Hello community,

This is my first post and first hackintosh build. I'm looking for some advice and help with my thunderbolt situation. This is a Custo Mac used for music production and needs the thunderbolt working for Universal Audio Apollo 8 interface and external SSD drive Bay by Blackmagic.

MOBO is Z170X-UD5-TH

Here is my process so far:

1) Followed Tonys install. (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.200564/) - OS seems to work fine

2) Did the NVIDIA trouble shoot (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solving-nvidia-driver-install-loading-problems.161256/)
- changed the boot screen look of clover... ? graphics now work great

3) Booted from Windows 10 and installed Thunderbolt drivers from Gigabyte and then flashed the Mobo based on the thunderbolt setup section based of this thread (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...3-test-build-ga-z170x-ud5-th-i5-6600k.199242/)
- both devices show in windows under the thunderbolt manager

4) GIGABYTE BIOS is at F21 and has been optimized based on the guides above

When I now boot into Mac OS the thunderbolt still doesn't show...

I'm using the Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter and have the Startech one on the way because I was getting frustrated. :)

Thank you for all your help!!!

You don't see anything under Thunderbolt in About this Mac... if no device is connected, but when you connect a TB device and switch it on before booting your hack, it should mount/be there. At least that works for me with BIOS F5 and F20, with selected gear.
Installing the drivers in Windows had a hidden step I didn't get at first, there's something that must be installed AND run after installing. I have the Startech adapter, BTW.

Also make sure you have updated the thunderbolt firmware (again in windows) from http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-UD5-TH-rev-10#support-dl . In the BIOS setup Thunderbolt security to none. The other thing is to make sure the thunderbolt device is connected and powered up before your boot the system. If it is a disk array make sure that all the drives have spun up and the system is in a "ready" state and not powering up. Finally you will probably not see anything in the thunderbolt section under about this mac. Mine continues to say no drivers found, but I have two thunderbolt disk arrays, and thunderbolt to eSATA adaptor and thunderbolt to FW800 adaptor all connected via the Apple TB3 -> TB2 adaptor and all works great.

Make sure that the drives are powered up, and fully ready before you boot the machine. I have a Pegasus RAID 5 enclosure, and if the drives are not fully spun up and the system ready (all blue lights) before I boot then the system will not seem them.

For info: On my hack the SystemInformations/Thunderbolt tab it says "Thunderbolt: No hardware was found."
but my Thunderbolt Appolo card works fine, under El Capitan I had to switch it on just before clover appears, and under Serria I can switch on before I switch on the computer...
