I needed a computer at the cottage, something for office work and internet only. So I searched cheap recycled computer that has a motherboard that is described on the internet as mackintosh able.
That is how I decided upon the dp35dp and 8500 gt.

Installation Notes

Mavericks was running quite ok. But now It runs a fresh Yosemite 10.10..
And Yosemite 10.10. installation is the one that I will describe.

BIOS setting first:

Yosemite per UniBeast.
With MultiBeast and kextbeast.

Mandatory Boot flags (otherwise you will end up in a black screen situation):

GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 -v

MultiBeast Settings

Everything runs smoothy until here!

MY ERROR here was to use easybeast which in most cases is fine, but here the kext elliottForceLegacyRTC GIVES KERNEL PANIC.
UNSeLECT "ElliotForceegacyRTC" IT BEFORE YOU CLICK INSTALL.

And if you run into the panic, run Yosemite install usb and go and delete it per terminal.

First off all, sorry for my English.

I read your post "The recycled for the cottage build: Intel dp35dp - core2duo - E6750 - 8500 gt"

Was brilliant. I can install with any problems in the same motherboard.
I have a problem, my mac doesn't shutdown.
the screen go to black and nothing happened.

Did you have this problem?

I will appreciate if you have any tip to solve this.

I've been trying to get ElCap booting without any kind of boot disk on this mobo. I'm gonna try again and downgrade my BIOS to the version you're using. @brandur

Sooo I got my rig to boot with a small work around of using the bootable motherboard BIOS CD you can make.. I have to manually select it each time I want to boot up the system.... but I'm successfully running 10.11 on an 8 year old CPU. I'm quite happy with that. xD
