This is probably obvious but is the OS Sierra installer in your applications folder? The terminal command is searching for it there.

Thanks Raddles, Im new to this build so do I need to put the OS Sierra Installer on my desktop? Or put it in my applications folder?

I think the problem is in the original coding for the terminal command.
Im trying to install HIGH SIERRA and in the original post I believe you were installing Sierra.

Your terminal code is:

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --no interaction

Should it say in the appropriate place Install\ macOS\ HighSierra.app ?

If you're creating an OS High Sierra installation from scratch then yeah the other Mac you use to create the USB installer needs to access the OS High Sierra downloaded installer from applications folder where it should have been downloaded to, assuming your following KGP's guide, and in my experience with installing OS Sierra, it's not wise to mix different guides. Follow his guide exactly as written. Sorry can't help you more there.

Hello,
I would like to THANK a lot the community and KGP for his comprehensive and intelligent guide.

I've build my first hackintosh following this guide, if this can help "other future builders" :
Sierra 10.12.6
i7 6800K OC 4.2
Asus X99 A-II
32Go RAM Ballistix (compatible with the motherboard)
EVGA 1070 iCX
SSD samsung EVO 850
Wifi TPLINK T9E (works OTB)
Power LEPA S 600W
NZXT Kraken X62 water cooling
Firewire PCIe Card with TI XIO2213 chip (works OTB)
into a NZXT S340 case.

Everything works like a charm, except the HW monitors... do not know why but system doesn't boot with it. I deleted them and replace with iStats.

The only thing which is weird is when I enable wifi, sometimes, system freezes and then reboot.

Again, thank you.

hey jc87,
I'm quite newbie on hackintosh. But i could get it running Sierra 10.12.6 so far. The problem is that now its freezing a lot!

As yours equipment is quite similar mine:
i7 - 6800K / ASUS X99 - AII / EVGA GTX 1070 / SSD6 - INTEL (M2) / EVGA700B / CRUCIAL 16GB DDR4 2133 UDIMM

Maybe you can advice me on this errors:

Kernel
/kernel (/system/library/extensions/IOAccelSurface2.text/contents/MacOS/IOAccelSurface2)
IOReturn IOAccelSurface2::surface_unlock_options(enum eLockType, uint32_t): surface is not locked.

Finder

parsecd

rejecting read of { kCFPreferencesAnyApplication, kCFPreferencesAnyUser, kCFPreferencesCurrentHost, no container, managed: 0 } from process 525 because accessing preferences outside an application's container requires user-preference-read or file-read-data sandbox access

Can you suggest something, please?

Firstly, thanks so much for this guide. I followed this guide and successfully installed Sierra 10.12.6 on:
5820k CPU
Asus X99-A
Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce 1080 Windforce OC

Everything is working, USB, sound, graphics, overclock, the lot...

However, there is one thing that is really annoying..

It would happen at random... but while I'm using my Hackintosh... My graphics would start breaking.. wherever I hover my mouse.. it would convert blocks of graphics to black and white.. and later seems like the graphics have 'frozen', while the background music is still on and mouse is still working.. So CPU still works but GPU seems to have gone into an error.

So I went to the logs under /library/logs/diagnosticreports.. and I found a file called:

Kernel_2018-03-07-202825_abcde-Mac-Pro.gpuRestart

Contents look like this:

I've installed the correct Nvidia Web driver, applied AGPFix, and also made sure I use the new approach to installing graphics via Clover (i.e. not the nvda_drv = 1 way but by adding the Nvidia Web Driver related lines into conflg.plist).

I've tried everything.. but no success thus far..

Does anybody have an idea of what may be going wrong??

KGP would you be able to help??

I'm really desperate..

same error here, but with this equipment: i7 - 6800K / ASUS X99 - AII / EVGA GTX 1070 / SSD6 - INTEL (M2)

ok I got this to work.. what I did was I updated Sierra to the latest version and then installed nvidia web driver corresponding to that latest version. I also re-applied agpfix. Now no more graphics error.

Hello,

I followed this osx 10.12.6 guide a few months ago, and my build has been quite stable. However I was running a GPU intensive program with tensorflow, CUDA 8.0, cuDNN 5.0, with a GTX 1080, and I keep getting a kernel panic with the whole OS crashing, along the lines of:

panic cpu 10 caller, waitq deadlock
kernel extensions in backtrace: com.nvidia.web.NVDAResmanWeb
Boot args: -xcpm npci=0x2000 debug=0x100
Darwin kernel version 16.7.0
Mac OS version: 16G29

I'm not sure how to copy the entire stack trace in debug mode since my mouse/keyboard are not functional, but does anyone else experience a kernel panic? I have no idea how to fix this

Hi, have you resolved your issue and make your hackintosh with cuda completely stable now?
