I still get reboots when I put my machine to sleep manually. I could not find exactly what you did that fixed this in the thread.

Kevin

I removed an ancient "genericusbxhci.kext" from /S/L/E/. By this I finally was able to successfully apply the AppleUSBXHCIPCI KextsToPatch entry "change 15 port limit to 26". Afterwards my hack did not reboot anymore on sleep.

OK Well I do not have that Kext and I have my port limit set to 20. Is 26 necessary or is it one of the other patches that makes this work?
By the way you are on vacation don't answer until you get back.

Hello again :D My machine is almost running perfect now, my only problem is still that my computer randomly shutdown (turns completely off) and then off for about 3-4 seconds and then it turns it self on again, and I can boot into to Mac OS again perfectly, but this happens a lot, I can use Mac OS for about 15-25 minutes and then the shutdown happens again and I'm using the "OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi" and maybe there could be something with my memory / ram and I have tested a few things and I also tried removing 3 of the modules and only use one on 4gb on my motherboard but it still happens, this is on the Asus v rampage extreme x99 mobo. my computer specs are as follows:
cpu: i7-5820K 6-core
mobo: Asus V Rampage Extreme
PSU: Corsair AX1200i with custom sleeved red cables
GPU: GTX Geforce 1070 Founders Edition
SSD: samsung evo 250 pro SSD
RAM: Corsair Dominator 2666MHz 16GB DDR4 (CMD16GX4M4A2666C16)

someone have anything I can try or may know whats wrong and why the shutdown occurs ? :D thank you everyone for your time

(I am dual booting windows 10 and it does not happend when using windows, only mac os/hackintosh )

I told you at least twice to check if your RAM memory is part of the ASUS Memory Qualified Vendors List!!! You do not follow my advice but keep on posting your persistent problem. If your RAM memory is not compatible with your mobo, it does not matter if you use 4, 2 or just 1 memory block. Your RAM memory will continue being incompatible with your mobo and produce random reboots in consequence.

Please finally follow my recommendation and check wether or not your memory is part of the ASUS Memory Qualified Vendors List!!!

Nobody is able to help somebody not following advices!

Cheers,

KGP

26 might not be necessary but just try. The aim of my reply was to mention that the entry itself might be important for your reboot on sleep issue. If 26 does not help either, try to find out where your build is different from mine in order to loose your knot.

Yea I am on vacacions but I cannot resist in sometimes watching your replies

Hi KGP big thanks for your reply :) yes you did and I am really sorry to post about the same problem again, will not do it again, I checked out the ASUS Memory Qualified Vendors List that you linked in the thread and found my memory on the list and that it is part of the ASUS Memory Qualified Vendors List, but I managed to forget to mention it inn this post, sorry my bad too not mention it in the post.

How does the port limit patch look like for an x99 build? I mean for the 26 config?

Here is the 26 port patch:
Code:
Name: Find: Replace: Comment: MatchOS:
AppleUSBXHCIPCI 83BD74FF FFFF10 83BD74FF FFFF1b change 15 port limit to 26 in XHCI kext (100 series) 10.12

hey, yes I do, thanks for the feedback, I will try to remove the patch and see if its works then :D thank you!

This is the patch I am personally using. It is a little different than some.

Code:
Name: Find: Replace: Comment: MatchOS:
AppleUSBXHCIPCI 83BD74FF FFFF10 83BD74FF ffff16 change 15 port limit to 20 in XHCI kext 10.12

Update: A few hours ago I finished building my rig based on this @kgp build (THANKS!). Had a little trouble installing Sierra at first, but after a complete re-wipe of the SSD and a new install...I am now a proud owner of a 'Stormtrooper' Hack. (At least, that's how one of my friends described the case ;-) So I guess I'll refer to it like that in the future, named the boot SSD 'Storm'.)

Everything seems to be working as intended. Will have to do some more testing and benching etc, but for now I'm more than content. New MotionGraphic build! Can't wait to take my compositing and animation apps for a spin.

Specs:

Asus X99-AII
Intel i7 6850K
Gigabyte 1080ti
32 GB RAM
(Will update in profile, and probably make a new post with my findings)

Sleep/Wake Functionality

With a couple of patches, one seems to be able to reach Sleep/Wake Functionality also on the Asus X99-A II. The individual steps are summarized below. However, please note that the entire part has still experimental character and can seriously affect your system stability.

1.) Download and unzip the VoodooTSCSync.kext.zip attached below. Note, that the attached file
considers a 10-core CPU configuration. The adapt the file for 6-core or 8-core configurations, perform the following steps listed below:

a.) Right-click in the Finder-Window on the VoodooTSCSync.kext file. Select "Show Packet Contents".
b.) Go to /contents/, right-click on the "Info.plist" file and select "Open with / Other". Select the TextEdit.app and edit the "Info.plist" file.
c.) substitute the default 10-core entry
Code:
<key>IOCPUNumber</key>
<integer>19</integer>
by
Code:
<key>IOCPUNumber</key>[/INDENT]
<integer>15</integer>
in case you employ a 8-core CPU, or by
Code:
<key>IOCPUNumber</key>[/INDENT]
<integer>11</integer>
in case you employ a 6-core CPU
d.) save the modified "Info.plist" file
2.) Copy the final "VoodooTSCSync.kext" file to the /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.12/ directory of your System Disk.

3.) Open your "config.plist" in the /EFI/Clover/ directory of your System Disk with the Clover Configurator and select
"darkwake=0" in the "Boot" Section.
darkwake=0.png
4.) Add the following "KernelToPatch" entries in the "Kernel and Kext Patches" Section:

Code:
Find* [HEX] Replace* [HEX] Comment

That's all for now..
