No, I have always had PEG set to primary. Maybe its related to how our respective motherboards/BIOSes handle the IGPU because it sounds like everything else is set up the same between the two of us. But it's a positive that the transparent window issue is resolved albeit with the loss of boot screen...

Definitely. Let me pick your brain again, Is it possible to have both the 770 and 970 cards running, but have the 770 using the osx drivers and the 970 Nvidia's?

As far as I know, it's not possible to have the two cards using different drivers. Both cards will be using the same set of drivers.
