The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

Better to post there, not here. You can't have more than 15 total ports if you want sleep working and or have other issues like data loss.
Maybe I couldn´t explain myself, Actually I don't have more than 15 ports total, however, If I don't enable them, the USB 3.0 doesn't work.

I will continue on the other forum.

Thanks!

Hello!
My system runs fine for a couple of months now, and everything just *works*.

Now I have to do some work to do which require a lot of computing power but after a while the system turns off and reboots.

I get, what I think is, a kernel panic with a message like this:

Those are not the current versions but I've updated them Clover Configurator and the problem persists.
Is there anything I can do about it, maybe a BIOS setting or something? The system runs fine until it's under heavy load. It's reproducable so I can try different things.

Hello!
My system runs fine for a couple of months now, and everything just *works*.

Now I have to do some work to do which require a lot of computing power but after a while the system turns off and reboots.

I get, what I think is, a kernel panic with a message like this:

or this one:

These KEXTs are currently loaded:

Kernel Panic reports don't typically provide any useful information. Are you monitoring system temperatures? My guess is your CPU is overheating and shutting down the system.

Interesting point, never thought of that.
The system ran overclocked and the temperatures were at 88 degree celsius max with a NZXT Kraken X52.

I've updated the BIOS and re-configured it with the guide from page 1 and no overclocking this time. The temperature peaks at 58 degree celsius now and one of the processes that triggered the reboot works fine. I did some other stuff, came back and the system rebooted again. I don't know what caused it this time, it could be sleep/standby thing.

I will investigate further.

It was getting hot for sure, wondering if your X52 is set up correctly. Meanwhile it does sound like you have other issues if its rebooting without a load.

Thank you! I did see that but trusted the recommendation from the various posts more than the Amazon description :) I have ordered the ASUS USB-BT500 now.
Just a follow-up on the ASUS: that one is also not working out of the box for me :( I have decided to finally upgrade my MB for more PCIe slots and have ordered an Apple Broadcom BCM94360CD kit.

I've run the software several times and the restarting on heavy load is solved. Probably by the Bios update/reset and not running the processor overclocked anymore. The temperature drop of over 30 degree celsius speaks for itself.
I've also ordered new thermal paste and I will check the X52. I'm running 'liquidctl' on the command line and the water temperature was never above 34 degree celsius.

Now the kernel panic happens when I wake it up from sleep. The log message starts with:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8000a14e67): "AMDFramebufferVIB::setPowerState(0xffffff8053c10800 : 0xffffff7f81701d76, 0 -> 2) timed out after 45337 ms"@/AppleInternal/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/xnu/xnu-6153.141.1/iokit/Kernel/IOServicePM.cpp:5296

There are a few solutions, I'll try them.

Good course, bet your sleep problems are related to your USB port configuration. 95 times out of 100 that's the issue.

The post you are replying too was posted in May of 2019, doubt you will get a reply from him, maybe. What happened is when you added that USB port (which was an internal header right?) it broke however you had USB configured on your machine. You don’t mention if you are using OC or Clover but the fix is fairly similar for both, you will need to remap your USB ports to take into account the new connection to the power supply and still keep the total of ports under 15.
This guide walks you through the steps for either boot loader. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/the-new-beginners-guide-to-usb-port-configuration.286553/

Hello! I just wanted to thank you for taking your valuable time in pointing me to that thread, now I finally understood how to fine tune my hack and leave all the USB ports that I don't need aside.

In order to fix the waking up issue, I left aside the port where the PSU's Corsair link is connected to the motherboard, since Corsair Link is not compatible with MAC it's pointless to have it connected anyway.

I hope this also helps some one with this same issue.

So, thank you so much Leesureone!

Cheers
