Started my OC journey last night on my 9020 SFF, reached the OC boot menu but not much after that. Great guide trs96, easy to follow and understand, things get a bit sticky around snapshot time, but the video in #2 helps a lot, hopefully later today I can get to desktop.

It's always great to hear that someone is reading and following the guide. Makes me much happier than hearing "This is all too complicated, just give me your finished EFI, I don't want to learn anything." Doing that is like giving your child all the answers to his math problems to hand in to the teacher. When the exam in the classroom time comes, he'll sit there staring at the problems, not knowing what to do.

Ususally indicates that CFG is locked. Did you boot into the modified GRUB shell ?

Unlocking CFG and Disabling VT-d (VT for Direct I/O)
CFG Lock prevents macOS from writing to a certain region in your BIOS. macOS does this writing for power management and other reasons. If it can't access those areas, it will not boot. This is why we'll need to boot into a GRUB shell and perform this CFG unlock manually before installing Big Sur.

Thank you, did those. Now I have this screen, last word says ‘Proceeding’.

Sometimes during the booting from USB there are longer waits. Some maybe a minute or two.

I think I might of missed something, it hasn't moved on from this screen. Can you confirm if my USB installer is setup properly?. I have the Big Sur installer on the USB and in the EFI partition, just the EFI folder that we modified on the desktop?. I'm unsure about where the OpenCore folder goes.

Zip up the whole EFI folder and attach it.
