The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

You have two onboard DP outputs right on your MT. Use one of those instead of the DVI.
So every video port is active? That's good news! Thanks

Would an active vs passive DP>HDMI adapter make a difference?

Hello folks. It's been a while. I'm trying to do some tweaks on RX-470. I've flashed its firmware over with RX-570 one. So far, it's recognized on Windows 10 and working as if nothing happened. I'm going back to my Big Sur to see how it goes, and will try to make the GPU into RX-580. I'll keep you folks posted. Attached is a screenshot of GPU-Z showing the card is "RX-570".

I've tried all RX-580 X Gaming 8GB firmware on https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?manufacturer=MSI&model=RX+580 but none of them worked out. So I decided to stay having my RX-470 as RX-570. Attached files are that showing the GPU is properly recognized on Big Sur 11.6.5 and Geekbench 5 scores. Slight increases in both OpenCL and Metal. Flashing GPU just takes a few minutes on Windows 10 and I'm happy with this result with taking all risks of same!

Great Deal on Amazon Alert. Buy two kits to max out your 7020/9020 SFF or MT ram.

A 16GB DDR3L 1600 MHz Ram kit from Timetec for just $44 ! I've never seen a price this low for new 16GB kit.

9020 SFF with Core i5/16GB for $184

Amazon seller ReviveIT is selling the core i5, 16GB and 512GB SSD version for $184 today. Apply the discount when you check out. Add a Timetec 16GB kit and your ram is maxed out. (see previous post). All you need then is a monitor with either DP or HDMI input. You must adapt DP to HDMI if using the iGPU HD4600.

Select ReviveIT as the seller by clicking in the box with the red circle.

Then you should see this with the coupon discount of 5%:

This is my latest case recommendation for moving your 7020/9020 MT motherboard into a new case. As you'll see there is plenty of room for a longer graphics card and the Harbin Repairs adapters that you'll need to make it work.

The case is very affordable too. Find it on Amazon.com in black or white. Most high quality cases now start at 90 USD and this is twenty dollars less than that. Use the money you'll save for the two Harbin Repairs adapters.

The Dell motherboard looks best in a black case but white is also an option if you prefer that.

Power Supply Upgrade for the Mini-Tower
Newegg has a great deal on a fully modular 550W EVGA PSU. No cable clutter !

Why buy a 30 dollar piece of junk and risk damaging your hardware when you can get high quality/performance for just $15 more ?

Good deal for a 2K (2560 x 1440p) monitor. If you're on a tight budget but still need a sharp 27" IPS display...

Prices have dropped significantly this year for the 7020/9020 SFF models on Amazon and Newegg. What used to cost $200 or more now sells for closer to $100. You probably cannot run Ventura on these but if you want any of 9 older macOS versions, these are the best deal for a low cost hack using OpenCore. If you already have a good SSD go with the $114 version on Amazon. If you need an SSD get the 9020 on Newegg and get macOS installed in no time.
