Hi all,

I am quite new to Hackintoshes as I built my first one nearly one year ago.
My hardware is:
-Gigabyte Z170-HD3P
- Intel i5-6600 Skylake
- 8GB ram
- Radeon FX570 8GB
- SSD dedicated HD

my first installation was High Sierra which I later updated to Mojave.
So far it worked like a charm.
Yesterday I was on it and it froze and rebooted.
A message of problem appeared in four languages, then the apple and then a "forbidden" sign.
After that the system no longer booted.
- In some cases bios did not see the hd, or
- Clover appeared but did not boot the system, or
- Clover appeared but no Mac partitions were showed
- bios reports the hd but did not boot Clover

What tools are available to track/fix this issue?
Or should I reinstall the system?

I have plenty of experience under Linux. Very little under Mac.
Any suggestion/help is appreciated.

Thanks.

'Sounds' like a drive failure.
You could try booting from the recovery partition and then running First Aid on the problem drive.

I was able to solve the problem.
I managed to boot Clover in verbose mode.
The error message said: "Error loading kernel cache (0xe).
A Google search found a thread here on tonymacx86 suggesting to swap a file named apfs.efi.
This is the thread:
Then I installed on my Windows 10 partition a Paragon trial program to read Mac file systems and swapped the apfs.efi file with the one I downloaded from the thread above.
The system now boots again.
