Hi,

I have been running my new build for a few weeks and it's been relatively smooth. I am now ready to add a GPU (ASUS 1060 6GB STRIX) and move away from the Intel 630 on-board graphics.

As this has become my main work machine I would like to make the switch with the least possible disruption so I thought I get some tips from the experts on the forum.

These are the steps i have identified so far I should take:

Install the latest nVIDIA web drivers for my OS.

Uncheck Inject Intel in Clover and check NvidiaWeb.

Disable IGFX in the BIOS.

I'm I correct to assume i should remove at least the following kexts?

FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext
IntelGraphicsFixup.kext

I'm I keeping FakePCIID.kext? Are there any Nvidia kexts I should replace them with?

It would be great to know if I'm missing anything to switch to a ASUS 1060 6GB STRIX from Intel HD 630?

Thanks!

@VioletDragon any ideas? I know you're the man for graphics ;)

You only need Nvidia Web Drivers.
IntelGraphicsFixup & FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext can be removed not needed when iGPU is disabled.
