The specifications and launch date of Nvidia’s much rumoured GeForce GTX 660 Ti has appeared online and it looks like we can look forward to a really interesting card if the details prove to be correct. As with the GeForce GTX 670, the GeForce GTX 660 Ti is based on Nvidia’s Kepler GPU architecture and judging by the specs, it’s not going to be that much slower.
For starters, the GeForce GTX 660 Ti appears to be night on identical to the GeForce GTX 670, with the same base core clock of 915MHz, the same boost frequency of 980MHz, the same CUDA/Shader count of 1,344 cores and even the same memory clock speed of 1,502MHz (6008MHz effectively). The only apparent difference is the memory bus which has been reduced to 192-bit compared to 256-bit for the GeForce GTX 670, although Nvidia has still managed to keep the memory count at 2GB.
The card is said to have a lower 150W TDP which is somewhat odd considering that normally the TDP doesn’t drop by that much simply by reducing the memory bus. The reference cards are said to sport DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity as well as two 6-pin power connectors and of course a dual slot cooler.
The GeForce GTX 660 Ti is said to be launching on the 16[SUP]th[/SUP] of August for a yet unknown price point, but we’d guess the new card will end up somewhere between the $299.99 and $349.99 price points, considering the cards will retail for around the equivalent of $435 in Sweden including 25 percent sales tax according to Sweclockers.
