Or should I erase them because of the VirtualSMC.kext in my clover?
Your choice. Use one or the other but not both.
They do the same job and are mutually exclusive.
Don't forget to delete the related sensor kexts too.
 
OK!
Scrapped FakeSMC.kext and 4 related sensor kexts.
Used clover to update/overwrite Lilu.kext, WhateverGreen.kext and VirtualSMC.kext.
And it booted straight in.
What's more, I was able to power down from the apple menu for the first time since this whole fiasco started!
I've got other work to do so will leave it for an hour or so and then retest before I mark SOLVED and post a quick synopsis. Fingers crossed.
