I have same configuration, and my CPU temperature is about 90°( only disk utility and chrome are opened).
Can you give me your CPU temperature values?

Hi, Goliaf. Temperatures in Windows 10 are good. Max is 60°.
When I move a window quickly with the mouse, the temperature go up and down.

So, your sensors in Mac OS show the temperature incorrectly
Search for a reason...
Although our processors can withstand temperatures up to 100 degrees, I believe that even 60 is still a lot (in real tasks)
If the processor is loaded with synthetic dough to 100%, then 60 is the normaly.

What CPU cooler do you use and at what speed does it work?
It’s also possible that you are using a not-so-good case.

On my system the temperature is about 30C when idling and gets to 55-60C when stressing all 6 cores. I would be concerned going above 60 let alone 90. I once had the CPU cooler fail, so would suggest checking to make sure the cpu cooler is still seated well and working properly.

When someone says, 90 degrees at idle - my first thought is fahrenheit or celsius? Some utilities default to fahrenheit, which causes needless confusion.

I have a watercooling with 2 big phans (120). No problem in Windows and Linux. In Mojave it stays at about 60 for few mn, and goes to 90 and more (yesterday 96); the temperatures are in Celsius.
I use internal Intel graphics UHD 630. Is it possible the problem come from this?

WOW! 96 celsius degrees with water cooling? Unbelievable!
I think it's trouble with sensors in Mac OS and it's wrong readings.
What thermal paste do you use?

macOS Mojave, SMBIOS 18,1

Motherboard: Asus rog strip z370-e gaming
CPU and RAM: i5-8600K, 16GB
Water cooling : deep cool captain 240
Graphics : from motherboard Intel graphics UHD 630
550 watt gold
computer case: be quiet silent base 800

Just now I start 'eclipse' (ide development) CPU temperature go to 85 and 2seconds. Later back to 60.
