Hey there,

Great thread - I wish I'd found this when I was building my Hackintosh! - You have however sorted my audio problem though :)

I'm running a really similar build but with a Gaming 7. I still have 2 distinct problems and wondering if you've seen anything similar:

1) USB devices sometimes just randomly malfunction - best example being my Logitech webcam, I can make a Skype call and it's fine - then without restart, etc you make another one and to the end user it sounds like a helicopter.
2) Something causes a system freeze, which can be whilst I'm using it, or it may not wake from sleep, or it can be during a shutdown - I'm lead to believe it may be the onboard LAN - have you had any experience of such things? Console doesn't appear to log *anything* out when this occurs.

Cheers,
Dave.

Question for you all? I set up a second monitor using DVI-D and everything works great unless I turn off my computer. When I turn it back on it goes into a boot loop. As soon as I unplug the DVI Cable it boots just fine. Any advice?

Hey Brenmcrae,

Did you ever get this to work?? I am in the same boat. Everything is working fine, except this. I can't boot with both monitors connected. I am on iMAC14,2 and have tried a few others with no success..

thanks

-Brad

brenmcrae, et al,

The only two on-board monitor connections that will work with this motherboard is the DVI & HDMI. You've stated how you connected your 2nd monitor (DVI). Is your 1st monitor connected via HDMI?

Thats correct for me stork..

1st monitor connected to HDMI, 2nd DVI ..

After the system is up and running on HDMI monitor, I can connect DVI monitor and everything is fine. If I restart, the DVI monitor comes up completely distorted and garbled (not viewable)..

thanks

I have to tell you that your write up saved me. I bought an entirely new machine and built it yesterday. Battled all last night with kernel panics and never got it up and running. Installed Yosemite on first try but I could never get it to boot after MB install.

Actually installed the new beta bios for this board this morning and started over. Followed your post to the T and not one issue. Even installed my gtx970 with no issues. 32gb of ram and a 4gb video card. I am good to go.

Thanks again for your time put into this. Its been since 2011 since I did my last hackintosh build. Feels good to have a refresh

Anyone else having occasional USB freakouts?

Seems by logitech webcam freaks out here and there and I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to start working again. People tell me I just start stuttering and it wont stop. If I unplug it and plug it back in to a different port its fine. I dont even have to stop the call.

Any insight on this would be super appreciated.

Thanks
Kris

i haven't purchased graphics card, because a friend told me that with this mother board it is not necessary.
I started installation following the instructions:
BIOS F4, only keyboard and mouse USB and 1 stick of RAM, and preparing BIOS
Load optimized settings OK
Initial Display Output to IGFX OK
Set VT-d to disable , does not appear
Extreme Memory Profile to Profile 1 OK
Save and Exit BIOS OK
type -v and enter and a bunch of hacker looking text , the monitor remains in black color
is it possible not to have graphics card i cant see VT-D BIOS OPTION and therefore i can´t see languaje screen

Thanks you very much for your coop
Sorry for my bad English and orthography
i´m not done yet with the new keyboard
