Hi there!
Finally it has been really easy upgrading directly from Sierra (10.12.4) to 10.13.3.
Just had to read in this superb forum!!!
My rig:
MoBo: Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU: i7 2700k (OC)
RAM: 32 Gb G.Skill Trident
MAC OS SDD: Samsung EVO 850 500Gb
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce 6Gb OC
Geekbench benchmark after the upgrade to HS. Not that bad for a CPU from 2012
I followed the steps in this guide: Update Directly to macOS High Sierra:
1. Update Clover.
2. Copy FakeSMC.kext to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ (no more kexts needed for me).
3. Copy apfs.efi to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/.
4. Download and Install macOS High Sierra Application from the Mac App Store.
5. Restart several times (a bit slowly - I guess it could be for the migration to APFS).
6. At Clover boot screen, choose Boot macOS Install option. Keep on rebooting a few times. Dont panic if you get a black screen, at least in my case restarting the computer apparently solved this.
7. Thanks to benjamin.dobell installing the correct NVIDEA drivers (.106) has been the easiest of everything:
nvidia-update.
8. Also updated CUDA.
9. And after restarting once again just run MultiBeast for Audio and USB (wasnt sure about adding these kexts, but did it). Check this: High Sierra - MultiBeast Audio
Well, that's all by now. I can see that Marvell's rear USBs are not working, but can live with that.
Etrecheck test says there are no problems!
