This is my first Hackintosh build and I am very happy it's finally working without any issues  Every evening last week I was struggling to run OS X on my Hackintosh but not successfully. My first install was not able to run Intel HD4600 graphics, no kext was loaded, flickers in Safari and everywhere else. After many hours reading forums, I reinstalled OS X with just -v boot flag. Installer hang after a string "efiNVRAMPublished...". I though it hang. Indeed, it did not hang, I heard voice was speaking via my speakers, something about selecting installer language or so... YES! At least my ASUS external sound card was working natively. And then I though why not pulling out my video cable and attaching back. Pulled out DVI-D cable, attached. Hmm, black screen, monitor slept... And after a few seconds - BOOM, installer screen came up with my monitor's native resolution! :headbang: Installed everything smoothly, rebooted, everything started. Opened here:

...then checked here:

Finally, installed MultiBeast 6.3.0, repaired permissions, rebooted.

What works:
  • TP Link WDN4800 card (natively)
  • ASUS Xonar U7 Echelon (natively)
  • Sleep, shutdown, reboot
  • Intel HD4600 (natively)
  • Realtek Audio 892

Didn't check:
  • Realtek LAN card
  • USB 3.0 speed

BIOS Settings (firmware F7)

hand-off enable?
xhci disabled ?
Good question indeed! I just followed some youtube videos showing how to configure BIOS on Z87, but as you asked this, I set now XHCI to Enabled and boot up perfectly. According to this thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/lion-desk...te-uefi-motherboards-xhci-mode-explained.html, the conclusion is that XHCI should be enabled...

And it is true. I opened System Report and now I can see USB 3.0 High speed bus. Before that it was just USB High speed bus. Thanks for the tip, I've updated the BIOS settings in the 1st post

Hi StreetRacer, congrats on your first hackintosh! I have the same motherboard and am also using the HD4600 like you. When waking from sleep I get a rainbow static screen on both of my monitors which goes away if I turn my monitors off and on again. I was just wondering if you get the same thing. Thanks!

Hi, I have no issues after waking up from sleep. Did you try using only one monitor or just pulling out the signal cables and connecting back without turning off?

Unfortunately using one monitor makes no difference, and unplugging and replugging the DVI cable while it's showing the rainbow static causes the PC to not detect that any display is connected at all.

No biggie though, it's a minor price to pay for a working hackintosh. Hopefully a future AMD/nVidia GPU upgrade will resolve the issue. Thanks though!

Some updates: sold my Kingston V300 SSD because of performance issues (maximum sequential writes were up to 100 MB/s and reads up to 160 MB/s). Bought Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, difference in speed is insane :) Benchmark attached in the 1st post.

awesome my build is very similar. Any issues?

This is my 4th hack-build, using:

  • Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3
  • i7 4790 3.6 GHz
  • Asus GTX750Ti-PH-2GD5
  • system drive: mSata SSD Kingston (SATA to mSATA adapter 6Gb/s)
  • storage: 2 x WD Red 2TB

Install crashes / stops during white screen with Apple-logo using UniBeast.

  • used-x, -v, GraphicsEnabler=Yes, PCIRootUID=0, NPCI=0x2000, maxmem=4096 in all sorts of combinations
  • updated Bios to F7
  • updated Bios to F8 (=beta)
  • VT-d: disabled / XHCI Hand-off: enabled / EHCI Hand-off: enabled / XHCI Mode: enabled / XMP: Profile 1 / switched off Intel Internal Graphics
  • Monitor connected to HDMI-port of video card. (also tried VGA-port)

In -v mode, it shows that installer stops after bluetooth message.
Also, it states that this is an unknown CPU model 0x3c

All advise is very welcome!
