Just like everyone in the craft of building a Hackintosh, countless hours have been spent, and many moments of which bashing my keyboard in anxiety as we all experience getting locked up in verbose mode watching the kernel hit the wall. I am not an expert, but just simply someone who desires greater performance from my workstation than what I can actually afford or may exist in power. This was a journey of its own with several years of periodic upgrades to wind up where it is. The intention is to save you time, (you) whom may have a similar setup, and my wishes are to save you time.

This guide is not a vanilla install unless you wish it to be so.

Core Parts

  1. SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 512GB
  2. 3930k (4.5ghz OC)
  3. Asus P9x79 pro
  4. Quadro K1200

Very Helpful Parts

  1. Inateck Usb 3.0 Docking Station with offline clone
  2. Another device with working OS X (MacBook or MacBook Pro or Hackintosh etc)

Involved Software

  2. Clover Configurator
  3. Clonezilla
  4. Inateck Usb 3.0 Docking Station (offline cloning)
  5. Multicast (if its part of your setup)
  6. Carbon Copy Cloner
  7. NVMe for OS X

Not Relevant but good to know

  1. G.skills Hyper X (2133 Oc)
  2. OEM Wifi Bluetooth card w/PCI-E adapter (Can airdrop and just works OOB)
  3. Inateck Suppressed 4 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card (Skip all the Bluetooth issues)

Bios

  • Turn Sata priority from Legacy to UEFI.
  • Change UEFI / Windows to Other OS
  • Change PCI-e Slot UEFI Priority

Clover Config

Boot Flags

  6. VoodooTSCSync

Stage 1 - Preparation / Pre drive for Clone
  1. Using a MacBook Pro (any working OSX device of choice or even vanilla),
  2. Update everything, install everything, even Nvidia alternative drivers

  1. Carbon Copy Clone your drive to an external
  2. Go do something else while it clones

Stage 2 - Clover & Kexts
  1. Install the newest version of Clover on the external drive (plenty of other guides for your settings an what they may be)
  2. Use Clover Configurator to mount the hidden EFI partition of the External drive.
  3. Use Clover Configurator to check boot flags relevant then save the .config file.

If you have a previous working setup just copy paste your EFI folder from the working drive to the new drive's EFI. Save it to your desktop to save your life, then copy it over. Don't mount both EFI at once, it can get a little hectic.
Stage 3 - Make sure it boots

  1. Put the new / clone drive into your desired computer of choice (If you are able to boot all the way then reset and go onward to stage 3)
  2. If Kernel panic then hot swap out or sit there and wait for everything to load.

Stage 4 - Clonezilla

  • Once you have a bootable clone drive its time to clone it into your PCie m.2 Samsung evo 950 card.
  • Make sure your bios is optimized or set to (Other OS) in SATA section
  • Use Clonezilla in standalone via USB
  • Go do something else

If successful you have a m.2 Samsung EVO 512 or 250 PCIe SSD that is so fast that you would think your internet service has been lying to you because of resentment, and from now on life will move forward 1GB at a time. Everything else - Well guy,..you figure it out

What are your read and write speeds of your PRO 950 compared to Windows?
