[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Most of decoding and encoding is done by CPU in Resolve ... ProRes is one of them.
What Kind of file do you transcode from ?
What kind of CPU do you have ?
I'm planning to build a i9 10850k with a 6800XT taichi in a Asus prime z490-a I have everything I just need to buy the video card probably tomorrow. I work with different software of edition and I have a job this year transcoding a lot of raw footage from gopro i think is 4k and codec is h264 , several footage from camera FS7 and some sony alphas in 4k so all of this need to be in apple pro ress LT 1080p . i just want to know if some of you guys have some experience doing this kind of transcoding any kind of info i appreciate it.

Hy Guys,

So Far So Good. I am happy:) Do not expected in the morning, I can run macos with 6800xt soo butter :)

After few attempts it is live without whatevergreen and any GFX related boot-args. Still at opencore 0.6.8...

Redshift Results guys...

Redshift 3.0.45 (macOS)
CPU: 32 threads, 3.50 GHz, 64.00 GB
GPU(s): [AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB 0.101ms]
Time: 00h:05m:20s

So that places the 6900xt in between these cards in the overall benchmarks.

macOS 32 threads, 3.20GHz AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16GB x 2 5.46
Windows 12 threads, 3.60GHz GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB 4.32

Shame the 3060 beats it. Redshift has only just come out of Beta for Metal though, we are talking months compared to years of development for Cuda cards..... 3080 comes in at 03m: 12s.

I don't think a strong GPU will make a difference for JUST transcoding (with little bit of resize and color management) with Resolve.
In Resolve GPU is dedicated to the work done by EDIT/FUSION/COLOR "Pages" & some Project Settings ;)

Hmmm interesting. I am using a reference card in a mini ITX Ryzentosh build. I will tweak an re-run the test.

The 5 minute mark is about right then... not bad at all.

So happy the drivers finally came out! The only available GPU that I can buy now is ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming D 16G OC .
Do you think guys it will be fine?
Found some review in Japanese that has the screenshot with the ID from GPUZ, which seems right.

***edit:
Found a
Sapphire PULSE RX 6800 XT for much better value. It should be great, can someone confirm by a chance?
