[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

1) Done

2) Done

3) Done

System is not booting with -wegoff. trying other options
Have you tried connecting the display to another output on the graphics card? It shouldn't change much but who knows, maybe switching from HDMI to DisplayPort will make a difference? Possibly even using that USB-C might change things

Still the same. I used another DisplayPort but it’s not any better. Weird. The device ID seems in line with what has been identified for the RX6800 XT.

What about the USB-C?

My thinking was if Apple supports this for their eGPUs, they probably want to connect it on that output. Especially for their Pro Display XDR.

Other things that come to mind:

1) remove -igfxvesa bootflag if you're using it

2) remove
-wegnoegpu bootflag if you're using it

3) try
-igfxnohdmi on both DP and HDMI

4) try
-cdfon on HDMI

5) try disabling your iGPU in your motherboard BIOS settings

I can confirm that 6800XT booting with Big Sur 11.1 beta but no acceleration. Big Sur 11.0.1 will stuck at apple logo so no compatibility.

There may be a way to edit the info.plist if the 6000.kext to slow it to run on the Navi 10 drivers.
You have to go into recovery and disable the security screenshots and then disable gatekeeper.
If someone has a spare drive for testing it would be nice to see if you can get metal.

Here is a link to disable system file protection which blocks editing of kexts.
Warning: This may break your BS installation. Do this as an experiment on a spare drive. You can also make the changes to the EFI using a USB install stick.

I'm more interested to know what algorithms you used to purchase your 6800 xt on release date ;)

hopefully by the time it's natively supported with solid performance there will be plenty of stock available (2022?)
