Background & General Information
This is my 2nd Hackintosh build. My 1st was a ASUS Z87-WS. It was very nice, but I just wanted more flexibility. There was no Thunderbolt, and, because I wanted that capability, I needed to change direction. Thus, leading me to Skylake and the GA-Z170X-UD5-TH.

I also have a Rosewill PCIE FireWire 1394a Card 2+1 Ports RC-506-E. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anyplace it can be purchased at this posting, sorry!

I built this Hackintosh as a DAW for Music Production by way of Apples Logic Pro X, and MOTU's Digital Performer. So far so good no hiccups at all!

After recovering from a health crisis I decided to update my Hackintosh to Mojave. The new install mandated that I use the IGFX (man it was slow going)! After waiting patiently the screen to install opened. Installation was a breeze.
I just purchased (9/19/2019) the PowerCooler Radeon RX 580 8GB the system is now "BUTTER BABY"!

Installation of OS X
I followed these install guides and was able to get up and going with no problems at all. (https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/multibeast-11-3-0-mojave.430/) - (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ojave-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.259381/) -

What Works that I've tested

All sound I/O work including Digital Optical Output.s (I'm using a MOTU 828 mk2 interface, drivers load without problem.)
USB 3.0 works fine. I tried a friends external drive, and it recognized it as 3.0 blue light lit right up.

What doesn't for me
Wake up after sleep makes video freeze or flicker. So I set system to never fall asleep. Although when I use hot corners and wake from that method of sleep, there is no weird video.

Updates
I will update what works as I do more testing. However, since what I need my rig for is running without any problems, I will test as time permits.

What Works

Facetime : Logitech WEBCAM HD 610
WiFi/AC + Bluetooth 4.0
Hand/Off & Continuity

Gratitude
I want extend my most heartfelt appreciation to Everyone associated with this site TonymacX86. You all are a wonderful community of people that make tech enjoyable and fun! Special Shout out to Stork! Did I get it right?

Peace Perritone

Good to see some of these up and running. My build is almost identical, but riddled with trouble. After significant fiddling with bios, bootflags, etc, I did get El Capitan installed and bootable, but as of now the build is useless to me. It does not support high monitor resolutions on onboard graphics (no matter what I install, patch or try), fails to recognise USB 3 and thunderbolt and has some minor niggles like automatically restarting if any bluetooth usb device is attached. I need the rig for photo editing, so particularly the low resolution display and slow transfers on usb2 make this senseless. I've since rebuilt my z97x rig and will use that for the time being.

Weird. 1440p on my color calibrated Dell works fine for me via an $6 hdmi-to-dvi adapter. USB3 reliably works at USB3 speeds.
Don't use Bluetooth so don't know if it works. (I have logitech wireless stuff that works), my Wacom works, etc.
LR CC & PS CC are quite usable for me.

Hmm, that's odd. Do you use a dedicated graphics card? I just run off the onboard GPU, reckoned it would minimise chances of trouble. Like yourself, I run a dell monitor, (27" ultrasharp). Tried various cables, no effect.

We do seem to share the shut down / restart issue. I've got it narrowed down to USB. Try pulling the usb devices on shutdown, it won't automatically restart. Mine doesn't anyway.

@Perritone: does shutdown work for you? My rig shuts down, but then immediately restarts...
I'm using the builtin HD530 GPU, that may be the culprit.
I'm not having any issues with the build shutting down normally. Everything thing seems to work great so far.

Peace

@grootbatavia: No, I use the builtin HD530 HDMI -> HDMI-to-DVI adapter -> Dell 2711. Straight HDMI wouldn't work, 1080p max. Dell doesn't send 1440p EDID over HDMI.
It's not practical to pull all my USB devices on shutdown, I just have too many. I might try to see if it helps, and then narrow it down, but I have my doubts.

I can't stress enough that the Parts guide is really a very critical part of this process I had to learn the hard way. Please try as best as your budget will allow to get the parts that the Board recommends and you won't go wrong. I don't write code so keeping that in mind I chose the road of least resistance and I haven't regretted it at all!

Peace
