SAMSUNG 840 EVO 2.5" 500GB SSD - It's too old, if you are using this as a guide, I would suggest going M.2, or at the least a newer generation 2.5" SSD

Comments

My 2011 27" iMac died inexplicably. I replaced the PSU, motherboard, then after both didn't fix the issue, I figured it was the GPU. However, being the high end custom GPU, the replacement didn't make sense financially, so my goal was to build a machine more capable than the highest tier iMac, but for a fraction of the cost. I could not be happier with the result!

I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.3 with the above WiFi and Bluetooth and no additional work needed for Handoff & Continuity!
I have native resolution on the 4K monitor using the DisplayPort out from the GTX 970. Side monitors are connected via DVI.
All USB ports that I can test work fine. I don't own anything that uses USB-C, so I'll update on that if/when I have a USB-C device.

BIOS Settings

Optional CPU upgraded to 5 Ghz. Make sure you have adequate cooling!

UniBeast
In order to load the macOS installer, you will need to give the machine a FakeCPUID of 0x0506e3 (SkyLake) in Clover Options > Binaries Patching at startup.

MultiBeast
Version 9.0.1 - Sierra

If you want to install FakeSMC Plugins, you will need to grab the latest version. The version included in MultiBeast will not work with the Kaby Lake CPU
https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-fakesmc-kozlek/downloads/

Clover
Version 4.38.1

ACPI
"FixShutdown" is checked because a "Shut Down..." will cause a restart without this option

Boot
"darkwake" is set to 0 for the audio fix after sleep (See: Patches and Drivers below)
"nvda_drv" is set to 1, otherwise my second DVI port isn't recognized

Kernel and Kext Patches
Permanently setting FakeCPUID here

System Parameters
NvidiaWeb enabled for the web drivers to work

Patches and Drivers

Grab the latest NVIDIA web drivers > https://www.tonymacx86.com/nvidia-drivers/

To maintain the iMac 17,1 identifier, you will need to run AGDPfix (In a nutshell, you will get black screen on boot because the 17,1 iMac is expecting the 5K monitor).
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/424-agdpfix/

I lost audio after resuming from sleep. This guide solved that issue (Note: Above image shows I used darkwake=0, not 8)
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...p-on-1150-and-possibly-other-realteks.170063/

Integrated graphics will not work natively without setting a FakeGPUID of the Skylake's integrated graphics. I don't need them, so I haven't bothered (My GPU supports 4 monitors!)

GeekBench

Update: I delided the CPU and have a stable (and cool!) overclock at 5GHz

Heaven Benchmark

Only thing I was going to assume is that we have similar boards and an identical CPU. If you are having issues with the CPU (ie. you can't boot macOS from the USB drive), have you gone into Clover settings at boot and change the FakeCPUID to 0x0506e3?

i use FakeCPUID to 0X0506E3 Can start the installation macos system
but ,When I reboot the system , Stop at Apple logo。 is it reason for graphics card?

You can use U disk to start the installation, but the system restart, to go into the system

After you install macOS, you need to set the FakeCPUID one last time in Clover settings on boot. Once you get to the macOS desktop, use Clover Configurator to permenantly set the FakeCPUID (See "Kernel and Kext Patches" from my main post above)

Right, let me change your line:
i just install macos ,Restart, use the clover boot, GO TO OPTIONS AND SET FakeCPUID, select just installed system disk
  • You don't need -v
