Comments

First, let me apologize for my English.

El Capitan Installation

I followed tonymacx86 10.11/Clover guide:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

Installation was smooth as butter, did not used any flags except "nv_disable=1", did not removed RAM etc. It was easy just as previous Chimera/MultiBeast installations on my old build.

What works

  • WiFi - native with full AC speeds
  • Bluetooth - native (wireless keyboard works in BIOS and clover)
  • iMessage/Facetime
  • Continuity
  • Hand-Off
  • AirPlay
  • AirDrop
  • Sleep/Wake
  • USB3 - see the guide below
  • Audio - with issues

Guide for USB

  • 1. Open Clover Configurator (Mount EFI and open your config.plist)
  • 2. Go to Kernel and Kext Patches
  • 3. Add patch:

    Name: AppleUSBXHCIPCI
    Find: 83BD8CFEFFFF10
    Replace: 83BD8CFEFFFF16
  • 4. Install 2 attached kexts with Kext Wizard

Issues

Audio

I used toleda script to enable audio, it works, but audio disappears after wakeup. The workaround is to use Black output instead of Green, it works after sleep. The problem is that I can't get sound from Black output in Windows.

I'm using Logitech C910 web camera, on my old build it worked perfectly and Yosemite was detecting it's microphone as Logitech Camera, on new build El Capitan unable to detect the camera and shows it as Unknown USB Audio Device. Just cosmetic, microphone and video works good.

Dual Boot

I installed Windows 10 on separate drive (UEFI), but Clover can't boot it. I can boot the Windows only with F12 key.

Hello Lewys,

Thanks for the post! I'm planning on building a Hackintosh too, will be my first one and I like your specs so I'll probably be doing something similar to your build.

Do you know if Xcode will work? I'm looking at developing some Apps and my Macbook Air is a bit slow (hence why the Hackintosh).

I don't know if Xcode works, but I sure it is. There is no problems with software, everything works except few issues I described.

I see you say that your USB 3.0 is working. Do have you tested the speed? my UD3H bored has USB 3.0 reporting cosmetically as 3.0, but the transfer speeds are the same (using a 3.0 flash drive) as using the 2.0 port.

Yes, it works at full speed. I will update the post later.

1. Open Clover Configurator (Mount EFI and open your config.plist)
2. Go to Kernel and Kext Patches
3. Add patch:

Name: AppleUSBXHCIPCI
Find: 83BD8CFEFFFF10
Replace: 83BD8CFEFFFF16

4. Install 2 attached kexts
5. Enjoy fully working USB ports :)

I am wondering if anyone thinks this will work for me?
All My USB ports are working, but my 2 USB 3.0 ones only work with USB 2.0 devices.
Thanks

This thread is about lewys' build which uses a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H motherboard and the components listed in his first post. Your system does not have the same motherboard nor similar components. Therefore, you are requested to open a thread in the El Capitan Desktop Support forum section: http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-desktop-support/.
