Until September last year I had a laptop and a not so powerful PC running Windows. I wanted to buy a iMac, but I could not afford one. So, I decided to built a Hackintosh ... So far, so good...I began to look for compatible parts; the thing was I had never built a PC and this was a challenge for me. Here, in Romania, we have a very small to non existent Hackintosh community :? so I began to search the Internet and came up with the components listed above.

OK, being my first computer build I was a little nervous. I managed to put it up in around 2 and a half hours
Now for the installation, I made the BIOS specific settings and used Tony's installation method: iBoot+Snow Leopard Retail DVD (Original DVD which I bought from eBay for 30 Pounds).
The installation was unbelievable simple and fun
I installed Lion after a week or so still using Tony's method: UniBeast and the Install Lion app, downloaded from Apple Store.

I have working audio, network, graphics and it boots without any problems Thanks to this site.

How did you get resolution working in the gtx 460? I have only one res (1024 x 768).

I've ran System Utilities in MultiBeast afetr installing the nVidia driver from the nVidia site and the Cuda driver. I now run Lion and it sees the graphics card without any driver. Upgrade to Lion. It is better and more reliable than SL.

The PSU is one of the most important parts of your computer and you go with a NoName and not like a Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax, be quiet! or something like that? And why do you have different RAMs?

Hi, the PSU is a modular 500W made in China (they are all made in China) by the Nrthrtlands. It is very quet and here, in my country, the branded ones, the ones that you described are really expensive. And the RAM's...low budget. PC parts are expensive here...I paid around 1800 $ for this build including LED 23'' monitor....In the US this would have cost me around 1000 $ And believe me...branded products, in general, are not always the way to go. I am very pleased with my Hackintosh and I am going to build one for my little sister (she's 10 yo) and teach her how to use it
