@goldorac ,

If you want to build your friend a hackintosh and he has a X299 board, I recommend you just go the standard way.
Create a installer stick with your Mac for Mojave. and use the latest Clover to install the default kext files (which are automatically checked) + the AptioMemFix.

if you start like this, and run into issues, people can help you better then just taking the EFI of a system, which is not stable yet, and customized towork with a specific board. You guys will have more problems by doing so, then starting from scratch.

Also did you get sleep ?
If your EFI have changed also tell me :)
Thx !

@shyun514 Read this thread and KGP's ones for HS or Mojave; if you follow their instructions, with some minor tweaks, you will succeed.

With Asus Z170 Pro Gaming + audio Mojave does not work, the solution external USB sound card Ugreen for a few Euros and here is the audio. hahahaha. What magic.
:headbang:
The audio works flawlessly on GA gaming 7 with High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina. No need for an external USB sound card. Post your EFI if you need help solving your problem. Cheers

Used the EFI of the OP, transfered it to the install disk. Clover boots and sees Windows entries. But, unfortunatlly, Clover doesn't see the USB installer. With the default EFI from UniBeast, it does see the installer but crashes when installing at some point.

Hey there - I've been AWOL for quite some time from the forums here. I have an X299 Designaire EX build that's working great on Mojave (thanks to @kgp back in the day). Time for Catalina, I think. Very curious about OpenCore - would you say that it makes X299X builds relatively easy to keep updated (similar to the current recommended builds)? TIA! --B
