I have Thunderbolt working with the gigabyte x299 UD4... using the Alpine Ridge Rev 1.0... and the apple TB3 to TB2 adapter.

Using it with my UA apollo working well.

I had to update firmware through windows first then set security to none in BIOS.. seems to work fine.

Although i do get some kernal crashes on start up occasionally although i think that is USB related.

My performance was bad too... i enable EIST in BIOS and it seemed to run much faster in Siera

    Im using pmdrvr kext too

Still not as good in Windows but not as bad as it was.. GB around 30k and CB around 2300 now. im hitting around 85 degrees on CB... i will maybe get some better cooling at some point... these chips get HOT.

Hello, thanks for your question, actually I could not make it work sadlyyyyy :(, I am trying with a diferent HDD but to be honest, I jumped to high sierra Beta, and the processor works perfect, the problem no web drivers, right now I am testing the Hig Sierra Golden Master and it works more stable.

I bought a GT 710 that had native drivers hahahahaha to work a bit until proper Web Drivers with the High Sierra final release will appear. I will try that guide to try to make it work, but you will need first to make the vga to boot in mac os sierra with x299, install the webdrivers first and make the black screen patch too, otherwise you will not be able to boot to the mainscreen, I could do it with this GT 710 too, I had a lot of info with that guide but for me it didn't work well, the processor works really bad in mac os sierra, and the programs works really weird too, but in High Sierra the processor works perfect and you don't have to set any fix, patch, it work oob the processor, the only thing you can do right now is to wait to high sierra because that mac os versión has full support of this processors and there works perfect...

    Quick introduction:
I had a great working hackintosh in the EVGA SR-2 with dual x5650's 2.66 GHz (32 nm, Westmere) OC's to 3.8 GHz for about 7 years. Finally the MB gave out and after reading these 2 threads I decided to jump in (instead of just buying the iMac Pro).
I have now a Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7, i9 7920X, 360mm Artic AIO water cooler with 6 fans, 8 x 16GB of G.Skill 3200Mhz memory, Gigabyte TB3 AIC, multiple Nvidia Pascal cards (1080 and 1070 and some old 9800 GTX just in case) plus a 1 TB Samsung 960 Pro NVMe M.2 and multiple other SSD's Samsung 850 Pro 1 TB and 840 Evo 1 TB...
Currently I am running Windows 10 Pro via Samsung 850 Pro SSD and I have not even formatted the 960 Pro M.2.
I will cross-post this also to the other X299 thread.
I know pete1959 has Aorus 9 and Vega and kgp has Asus and Nvidia Pascal card. Somehow I have to combine both threads to make a viable hackintosh.
From reading both treads I gather that the following participants have this HW configuration (if anything is incomplete or incorrect, please let me know).
    pete1959 Asus X299 Pro Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 9, i9 7900X, AMD Vega
    mgregrs Asus PRIME X299-Deluxe, i9 7900X, Vega 64
    dwhitla Asus PRIME X299-Deluxe, i9 7900X, GTX1080TI
    dk1306 Asus X299 Mark 1, i7 7800X, GTX560TI
    liufei Asus TUF X299 MARK2, GTX1080TI

    kgp Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 9
    lolicat Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7, i9 7900X,
    biomindxtr Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 3, i9 7900X, GTX1080
philter Gigabyte X299 UD4, TB (enabled EIST in BIOS, using pmdrvr kext)

    Menno87 X299, Vega Frontier
    petrikleynhans MSI X299 SLI Plus,
    paulotex MSI X299 SLI Plus, i9 7820X, GTX1070+GF710
flyinsym MSI Gaming Carbon Pro AC, X7820, Vega64

I am trying to get a complete list, so anyone with a certain combination of HW can ask the right people how they got their rig working.
I am at the very beginning as I couldn't even make a bootable USB key with the High Sierra GM beta (17A362a). I know I downloaded the whole 5.17 GB install file (and it installed correctly on my iMac) but I already stumbled and get the "macOS does not appear to be a valid OS installer application" despite the fact that I can see the "createinstallmedia" file in Contents/Resources. I probably have to just wait a couple days for the actual GM.
One thing I tried was to OC and the Gigabyte (just like the Asus) lets you OC all cores (in my case all 12 of them) at the same time (I can get 4.4 to 4.6 GHz out of my setup).

Hello Sgunes and all others reading this thread!
I would also be interested (I still have to buy the components) in a X299 rig, to be precise my ideal rig would be:

    i7-7820X
Asus Prime X299-A or Asus TUF X299 Mark 2 or Gigabyte GA-Aorus-X299 Gaming 3
    usual G.Skill memory
    Aio Water cooler
Samsung 960 Evo NVMe M.2+Rotational HDD

    If not forced to install High Sierra I would prefer to stick to Sierra for now, one reason being for the APFS to consolidate, the other that as usual my apps could experience issues in the new OS until say 10.13.2;

now the question arises on the Graphic Card:

for various reasons I would prefer to use an Nvidia Pascal Card such as a Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 1080 WINDFORCE OC 8G to a Radeon RX 580 or VEGA

but than again, having read that there are issues with Pascal cards on Sierra on X299 mobos and of course Web Drivers in High Sierra are not available now and who knows when they'll be, I would like to hear if there is someone of you guys that managed successfully to run Sierra on such a system with a Pascal Card.

I understand liufei has but he hasn't told us how yet .... so anybody that has, is welcome to post his/her experience in detail!

    Thank you all!

    Hello Liufei Don't worry,
I understand that it is difficult for you to write in English, but with a little help from me maybe we can still have a successful exchange of views from which some people in this community may benefit.

To begin with, let me ask you some simple questions: you may answer very simply: yes or no.

Is Your X299 computer currently running Mac Os X Sierra 10.12.6 (16G29) in a stable manner?

Is Your X299 computer currently running with a Graphic Card with an Nvidia GTX 1080Ti GPU?

What kind of Graphic Card is it ? (model and brand)

Are you using Clover as a Bootloader to boot into Mac Os X Sierra?

Are you using Nvidia Web Drivers 378.05.05.25f01 as graphic drivers in Mac Os X Sierra?

Are you loading some particular Kext in Mac Os X Sierra to use the GTX 1080Ti?

Are you loading some particular DSDT/SSDT in Mac Os X Sierra to use the GTX 1080Ti?

Could you just post some screenshots of your Clover configurations regarding graphics?

Thank you VERY much for your collaboration!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
