Success Hackintosh i7 GA-Z170X-UD5 TH - i7-6700K - GIGABYTE GTX 970

Am hoping for some assistance. I have built multiple desktop and laptop hacks, but am completely stuck. I migrated my old desktop hard drives to my new GA.-Z170X-UD5 TH and can only boot into one of them.

1. Toshiba OCZ Vertex 120GB SSD - This drive has Sierra on it and I can boot into it. I cannot boot into it if I select inject Intel and get a black screen instead. Boots fine with inject Intel off, but no acceleration.

2. Samsung 850 EV0 250GB SSD - This was my main drive and the one my family uses daily. I cannot boot into this drive no matter what combination of Clover settings I try. I really need to be able to boot into this and have even tried reinstalling Sierra onto it (not clean install because I do not want to lose everything) but that does not seem to work. I am attaching my Clover folder in hopes someone can help me figure out what is wrong. I have also attached a photo of where the boot processes hangs up.

Hey,
I would love to know how you achieved your USB success. I have a similar system which is running perfectly with the exception of USB 3.0. Most of the resources here for el cap USB support are for older motherboards. I have the z170x ud5th like you, would love to know how you did it.

Sorry for the late reply. This is the mapping I used.

HS01: USB2 device on port #1 from USB3 port closest to Lower Type C port, port <01 00 00 00>

HS02: USB2 device on port #2 from USB3 port to the right of Port #1, port <02 00 00 00>

HS03: USB2 device on port #3 from USB3 port next to type-C and above Port #1, port <03 00 00 00>

HS04: USB2 device on Port #4 from USB3 port to the right of Port #3, port <04 00 00 00>

HS05: Suspect USB2 device on top USB3 MB Header , port <05 00 00 00>

HS06: Suspect USB2 device on top USB3 MB Header, port <06 00 00 00>

HS07: USB2 device on Case USB3 Port from the bottom USB3 Mother board header, port <07 00 00 00>

HS08: USB2 device on Case USB3 Port Closest to Power button from the bottom USB3 Mother board header, port <08 00 00 00>

HS09: USB2 Suspect left MB USB2 hub header, Port, <09 00 00 00>

HS10: USB2 Hub from USB2 motherboard header, port <0a 00 00 00>

HS11: USB2 port on USB2 Port below HDMI port, port <0b 00 00 00>

HS12: USB2 Port on USB2 Port closest to ethernet jack, port <0c 00 00 00>

HS13: USB2 Device on USB2 port furthest from PS/2, port <0d 00 00 00>

HS14: USB2 device on USB2 Port next to PS/2, port <0e 00 00 00>

SS01: USB3 #1 from USB3 port closest to bottom C type port , port <11 00 00 00>

SS02: USB3 #2 from USB3 port next to port #1 , port <12 00 00 00>

SS03: USB3 #3 from USB3 port next to top type C port, port <13 00 00 00>

SS04: USB3 #4 from USB3 port next to port #3, port <14 00 00 00>

SS05: Suspect USB3 device on top USB3 MB Header, port <15 00 00 00>

SS06: Suspect USB2 device on top USB3 MB Header, port <16 00 00 00>

SS07: USB3 Device on Case USB3 port from USB3 motherboard header , port <17 00 00 00>

SS08: USB3 Device on Case USB3 port closest to power button from USB3 motherboard header , port <18 00 00 00>

SS09: USB3 unknown , port <19 00 00 00>

SS10: unknown, port <1a 00 00 00>

USR1: Unknown, Thunderbolt??, Port <0f 00 00 00>

USR2: Unknown, Thunderbolt??, Port <10 00 00 00>

Then added this string to confing.plist in clover to disable the ports I don't use to limit the OS to 15 ports
<string>dart=0 kext-dev-mode=1 rootless=0 uia_exclude=HS05;HS06;HS09;HS11;HS12;SS05;SS06;SS09;SS10</string>

Then follow the instructions under section 7 of this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/10-11-0-10-11-3-skylake-starter-guide.179221/

Hope this helps.

Hey Cmfusco11,
I am considering an identical build. I didn't see you talk about the Thunderbolt port. Are you able to use it? Do you have drivers for it? Its my understanding that El Capitan doesn't support Thunderbolt 3. If that is the case why did you select this motherboard? Can you get Thunderbolt 2 to work on it with El Capitan?

Mine are disabled to not exceed the 15 port limit. I also don't have any thunderbolt devices. Would love to get some thunderbolt devices for an external raid setup but not willing to do it until I can confirm they work. Let me if you figure it out.

hello i have problem installing the 10.11.6 with
i7-6700K

@almusaka please start a new thread in El Capitan Desktop support to get help with your install. Thank you.
List all of your current hardware I7-6700K etc. in your profile to the left, under your avatar.

Finally, it worked for me. But I have no audio, and I have two 16GB RAM installed. I can see only one of them.
I did MultiBeast, and, after restart, I tried to install the Nvidia driver, which was not working with 10.12.1 sierra, but now tdhe graphic card is working.

Did you install the Rams in correct DIMMs? Did you actually pushed them in to the end?
What Audio did oyu install? Did you select the correct output device in the system preferences?

You was right about RAM, one of them was out of the slot a bit as I was afraid to push more. It's working now.
But no success for the audio.
I installed ALC1150 and 100 series audio as recommended
I don't have anything to choose from in system preferences.

Thunderbolt looks like not working aswell, but I don't have anything thunderbolt to try it

For me it worked with MultiBeast Realtek Audio ALC1150 & 100 series Audio

Did you try the fix/toleda's script as described in the first post?

I'll try tomorrow and let you know.
How about thunderbolt? Is it working on your machine?
