    Success HackintoshGA-Z170X-UD5 TH - i7-7700 - GIGABYTE GT GeForce 220

    7th Generation - Kaby Lake Hackintosh

    booted into BIOS by pressing DEL during start splash screen.

    Loaded optimized defaults

    XMCI Hand-off ->Enable

    Super IO Configuration-> Disable

    VT-d ->Disable

    Windows 8/10 features -> Other OS

    Storage Boot Option Control -> UEFI Only

    Boot Option #1 -> USB drive

    **Save and Exit**

    1 - Create a Bootable USB with UniBeast with this guide : https://goo.gl/7XiPNq

    2 – To boot, CPU ID needs to be spoofed. Go into Clover options at boot time and input the Skylake ID as FakeCPUID. Then just add the key and string in the KextandKernelPatches section of Clover's config.plist during post-installation.

    Skylake CPUID: 0x0506E3

    Code (Text):
    ...

        <key>KernelAndKextPatches</key>

        <dict>

           <key>FakeCPUID</key>

           <string>0x0506E3</string>

    ...

    3 – Clover Configurator /Devices/USB select FixOwnership

    4- Boot and install following tonymacx86 : https://goo.gl/7XiPNq

    5- After install ... I use MultiBeast - Sierra 9.0.1 with this configuration

    6 – Copy FakeSMC.kext in EFI Clover Folder (in Other )

    Reboot and Congratulations )

    Not working :-

    ALC 1150 ( I have external sound card ”Fast Track USB” )

    Intel HD 630 ( I have Nvidia graphics card “GT 220” )

    USB 3.1 (type-C)

    I'm pleased and excited with your success! Your post gives me hope.
    My build will be primarily for Logic Pro X, Kontakt and high-end orchestral samples.

    I have the GA-Z170X-UD5 (non TB) and have been struggling over whether to get a
    6700K or a delidded Silicon Lottery 7700K with a Noctua NH D15.

    I see you have a keyboard. Are you using Logic?
    Are you planning on using the ALC1150 for audio?

    I need to try and use the onboard video until I can acquire a suitable GPU.

    I'm assuming you did the bios f20 upgrade and it was uneventful?
    Does the upgrade require a Skylake chip or can any 1151 socket Pentium, Celeron, i3-i7 chip be used?

    Well done and thanks!

    No, I'm using Cubase and Pro tools with Kontakt and many other plugins

    No, Because it's weak sound card and wouldn't give you real sound

    You can check this guide : https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...cpus-200-series-motherboards-in-macos.211743/

    but it didn't work with me

    You can use any 1151 socket .

    So I'm assuming that you're going to be using some 24-bit, 192kHz, USB audio interface instead?
    Do you think that will work well with a nice set of calibrated, near-field monitors?

    Also:
    How hot does the Kaby Lake seem in your setup?
    I'm getting ready to purchase a cpu on Wed and am still considering this chip.
    https://siliconlottery.com/collections/lga-1151/products/7700k49g

    Now that you've logged some time with it, would you unequivocally recommend using the Kaby Lake over the Skylake?

    I'll let you know how my build goes.
    Thanks again for your invaluable input!

    hello

    FYI: the bios F20 upgrade DOES require a skylake cpu.
    I have been stuck with my 7700K with my 170x board because I had neglected that point. I had to buy a cheap skylake cpu on amazon to do the flash update ...

    Thank you!
    Amazingly, it's been difficult to ascertain this fact.
