My daughter bought the Cool Master Case and gave me a note for Christmas saying something to the effect "Think of all the fun we can have building this together" and gave me a printed copy of this article.

She uses a 13" MBP for school and "tries" to edit 4K on it, but it is not really up to the task. In addition the University's publicly available machines are several years old. So, I started reading and this fantastic web site was called out in the article. Basically, I tried to target a sub $1500 build (including the case my daughter provided). My daughter wanted "cool lighting" but the kits that were cool would have put us over the budget so we settled for some basic lighting.

I created a boot image from Mojave latest 10.14.2
After some learning on my part, I got Mojave installed and booted with the following parameters that came from the first thread.
Audio: AppleALC, Audio ALC887/888b
Disk: None
Misc: Left the greyed out FakeSMC
Network: RealTek RTL8111 v2.2
USB: 7/8/9 Series USB Support, Remove XHCI USB Port Limit, USBInjectAll
Boot: Clover UEFI Boot Mode
Customize Graphics: Inject ATI
System Definition: iMac 18,3
What Works
Everything at the moment.
What Does Not Work
