[Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Hey NCMacGuy, do you have the exact specs/model of this Wifi/bluetooth card you are using?

If I jump back into grading this machine, it would be nice to add Wifi/bluetooth (for airdrop), and I just wanted it wouldn't hurt to use a WiFi card that is confirmed to work with this build.

Not sure if you're still using the Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 MoBo, but any feedback on an ideal Wifi/bluetooth card for this build, and any necessary Opencore tweaks needed would be great to know. Thanks!

@HackaShaq

Yes, I still occasionally use the Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 MoBo. I keep updating it with the latest Open Core and macOS to see how it handles them. The WiFi/BT card I use in this and other builds is the Fenvi FV-T919. It is plug-and-play with nothing needed in the EFI. I see you have already ordered a different Fenvi card.

I see Newegg has this card available.

Thought I would share EFI with random serial number that is working Flawless with Ventura and Gaming 5 motherboard ( same just different usb mapping)with RX580 graphics and Fenvi Card
System Def 19,1 ( Ventura public Beta 4) Open Core 8.3
handoff, airdrop, universal clip board, sleep all working perfectly

Fantastic, thanks penrow1!

My dumb luck continues! LOL

This wifi/BT card arrived today. I popped it in, connected the internal USB cable, didn't do a thing (guess I got lucky that the USB port is already set to internal) and it worked like a charm.

I now have Airdrop and Wifi on this machine for a mere $36. Wow!

It's really funny because I was almost convinced I would just leave Catalina working on this machine and run it into the ground until I got a "real" Mac with Apple silicon. Now that I have Monterey running on this machine, it feels new again, and with Airdrop/wifi/bluetooth I'll probably keep this machine as my main "Mac" for another 3-5 years. It still does everything I need it to do, and now it's even better.

EDIT: Looks like the price dropped even more to only $32.99 now! Nice.
Just a heads up in case anyone is looking for one of these. Just click on trs96's link above. Cheers.

Thanks so much @trs96 and also thanks to @NCMacGuy for mentioning this in the first place!

You're one of the smartest people here. You did one hack with a guide that I wrote and not long after, hacked your Z370 Aorus and got awarded a Golden Build for that. It took me many more years for me to post a guide/build that got that status.

You're too kind, but honestly my greatest asset is being dumb. That allows me to think like a dumb person, because I am one, and that leads to writing guides that are easy to follow for any dummy like me! LOL

It updates working Opencore EFI automatically.

For creating one from scratch I use
Oc-Gen-x
https://github.com/Pavo-IM/OC-Gen-X/releases
with these selections:
Comet Lake

Essential : LiLu Virtual SMC

Virtual SMC Plugins: SMC Processor SMCSuperIO

Graphics: Whatevergreen agdpmod=pikera shikigva=80

Audio: AppleALC alcid=11

Ethernet: intelsmalltree

USB: USBInjectall

Firmware Drivers: Openruntime.efi HfsPlus.efi

and Hackintool for usb mapping
https://github.com/headkaze/Hackintool/releases

and if you add or change anything in EFI, use open core configurator to integrate changes into .config file

hey guys,
still running this machine with macOS 10.13.6 and Clover on a GTX 1080 since like 4 years with 0 issues since I installed it!!!.

I might consider upgrading it soon and wanted to get some feedback.
Looking to keep the Gaming 7 and the 8700k but might want to switch to a Radeon GPU so I can get support for the newer macOS versions.
I saw that most people use OpenCore now.
Any experience with the switch and recommendations for a 6700XT (are all supported?)
