This is my 4th Coffee Lake build. I always like NVIDIA but as Apple decided to keep distance from them I had to choose AMD  . In the era of Machine Learning how can a company like Apple neglect those revolutionary graphic cards (FYI, NVIDIA cards are more compatible than AMD cards because of CUDA cores. AMD cards are more focused on gaming & editing till now). Anyway, I configured this build in may 2019 but didn't get time to post it. So here it is.

The Build

BIOS Settings

Use "F2" to enter you UEFI setup.

  • Load Optimized Defaults
  • Disable VT-d
  • Disable Secure Boot Mode
  • Set OS Type Other
  • Turn off internal Serial port
  • Turn off Network stack for boot
  • Set XHCI Handoff to Enabled
  • Enable HD Audio
  • Don't enable decode over 4G
  • Set Primary Display to dGPU
  • Set DMVT pre-alloc to 64MB
  • Set USB legacy to enabled

Installation

Download UniBeast 9.1 for Mojave and make a bootable USB as described in the installation guide. I replaced the clover with Clover_v2.4k_r4920. The installation was smooth.

Post Installation

For post installation I used MultiBeast 11.2.1. I selected the following options:

I updated the Lilu.kext, AppleALC.kext & WhateverGreen.kext of /Library/Extensions with the latest kexts.

Graphics
As I was using AMD card & selected dgpu as primary display I didn't need WhateverGreen kext. It was showing 8GB after I first logged in and didn't face any issue. But as I'm using Headless IGPU Configuration I had to install whatevergreen kext. I followed @jaymonkey 's guide for this. Becaue headless configuration gives more stability to hackintosh and behave much more like a genuine Mac with access to IGPU hardware accelerated features. I also selected 18,2 System Definitions (SMBIOS) from 18,3.

Audio
As I install Lilu+AppleALC, I don't have do much for it. I just changed Audio ID to 7.

USB
To remove USB port limit I used headkaze's Hakintool . I also attached the .aml files if anybody needs it.

What Works

Everything as per I know. Except the USB Type C (as I didn't need it I didn't configure).

Here is the geekbench score.

I have also attached the config.plist file.

Hey, thanks for the info. I'm using the same Mboard, so might use the same bootables and see how that goes. Have to use Lilu.ktext and WhateverGreen.ktext etc. Fingers crossed.
