Yes, this is all working like my prior build since the CPU is the same.

The only thing I noticed different is the SATA controller shows as Generic AHCI controller instead of Intel Series 6
The CPU states are managed by the Controller as far as I know, but very good to hear that anything works !

I hope someone get 32 GB RAM working and can confirm that we can finally use 32 GB Ram without freezes (with Gigabyte boards, Asus seams to be not affected!)

I would clear out all non-Apple ktexts and then re-run Multibeast with all of the correct drivers selected. Another thing to check is whether your audio device is enabled in BIOS. Clear your BIOS settings and load optimized 1st then go and change settings,

Yea, it's no use. I get one set of sound assertions or another depending on what solution I try. I cleared out all non-Apple kexts and reran Multibeast (v6.2.2). I still get the same assertions:

When I try toleda's alc1150 patches (https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALC1150) (I make sure to revert to original AppleHDA.kext and remove enablers), I get only 2 assertions:

Code:
May 23 12:03:47 Amrs-Mac-Pro.local com.apple.kextd[12]: WARNING - Invalid signature -67061 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0B for kext "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext"

When I try toleda's clover patch, I get these assertions:

Code:
May 23 20:28:19 Amrs-Mac-Pro.local com.apple.kextd[12]: WARNING - Invalid signature -67054 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA12 for kext "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext"

Are you also seeing the Invalid signature warnings? I've tried rebuilding kext cache and fixing permissions, still fails.

Would be willing to share your AppleHDA.kext by any chance?

I'm also seeing these errors and I'm not sure whether to worry about them or not:

Code:
May 23 04:37:12 Amrs-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed outMay 23 04:37:12 Amrs-Mac-Pro kernel[0]: WARNING: IOPlatformPluginUtil : getCPUIDInfo: this is an unknown CPU model 0x3c

and

Code:

I do see some of those messages, the sound assertion messages when the AC1150 driver wasn't installed. I will switch to verbose tonight and let you know.

The build is super solid so far, I ran a geekbench and it doesn't seem to be faster nor slower than a Z87 board which is good I suppose because the SATA chipset is unknown in OSX but still worked great.

My new SSDs should arrive this week and I will pair each other up in a RAID 0 setup using the Marvell chipset.

I have been following your build closely vision33r, looks great! I have my eye on the Black Edition version of your motherboard. It looks like the UD5H is more compatible than the UD3H of ayacode. Could you maybe note which drivers you did install in your previous build, since the new board runs pretty good on those drivers.
About the RAID 0 SSD set up, I am looking forward to your results. However, I thought I read somewhere that by using a RAID 0 set up, Trim can not be enabled, but I guess we'll see ;)

I just bought this same GA-Z97X-UD5H mobo trying to build a Hack around it w/a i5-4670K CPU, 16GB RAM, and a couple of SSDs. Using Intel HD 4600 integrated for now.

It's a beautiful mobo, with all kinds of BIOS options, much better BIOS (especially fan control) than in Gigabyte's Z87 line.

Anyway, having all kinds of problems installing Mavericks to this system. Keep getting "PCI Configuration Begin" whenever I try to boot my Clover install USB with Mavericks or my SSD that has Mavericks running from my previous install on the Asrock Z87E-ITX.

I've tried all the boot switches I know of: -v -x -f npci=2000 (3000) PCIRootUID=0(1) GraphicsEnabler=No. Tried all kinds of BIOS options: AHCI is enabled, WOL is disabled, XHCI=auto, XHCI, EHCI handoff=enabled.

At my wits end here. Any ideas would be much appreciated, since I don't want to go back to using Windows 8.1.

Thanks!

Did you try
Bios Features / VT-d / Disable ?
I don't think those boot switches you mention is necessary.

After the install is done, if system keeps freeze randomly,
try MIT / Miscellaneous Settings / PCIe Slot Configuration / Gen3
Hope this helpful, Good luck!

Well, my Alc1150 still silence as ayacode's...

I'll be honest and tell you that I have not been able to get into Mavericks Setup with Unibeast. The only way I was able to get Mavericks working is that I cloned my working OSX 10.9.3 build from a previous hackintosh and simply boot off with that.

If you have a graphics card it maybe a good idea to remove it and use the built in GPU.

I removed my 32GB memory and swapped to a 2GB DDR3 stick and didn't use any switches to get into Mavericks.

I've tried -x -v -PCIRootUID=0 and none of that worked. I simply left it without any switches and it booted in.

I might shoot a Youtube video just to help folks out when I have time.

OK, so I managed to get Mavericks installed via the "Old School" Route - Burning an iBoot-Haswell CD then installing 10.6.3 then upgrading that to 10.6.8 which allowed me to create a Unibeast boot USB flash disk with 10.9.3 after downloading it free from the App store. Believe it or not, THAT WAS ALL THE EASY PART!

Took me about 4-5 hours with all the trial & error. I installed 10.9.3 with no problem from the bootable Unibeast USB flash disk. Then came the hard part. I rebooted into the install & used MultiBeast 6.3 to install FakeSMC, an iMac 14.2 SMBIOS, etc. - all the typical bare essentials needed to boot a Hack.

Upon reboot (& everytime thereafter) I keep getting stuck at this damn message:

"DRMStatus: iTunes/Apple Store Content Access Problem. Content playback may be disabled on this computer. You can Continue to use the machine, but you should contact an Apple support representative. ErrorCode: 8877652"

Right before that, I'm also seeing some messages about Bluetooth, where it sits for about a minute, then goes on to the DRMStatus message. I've tried everything I know of between BIOS settings (optimized defaults included) different switches at boot, and different kexts and nothing seems to work. I've even tried using the built-in video in my i5-4670K and a Radeon HD5450 Vid card, with USB Bluetooth transmitter that has built-in support in OS X, and with/without my Broadcom-based PCI-E Wireless 802.11N card. Makes no difference.

The only way I can get into the system is with -x boot flag.

I've built quite a few Gigabyte-based Hacks, & this has easily been the most problematic. Maybe it's the new Z97 chipset? Anyone have any suggestions?

Please save me from having to use Win 8.1 or Linux on my new PC.

Thanks!

PS: As a last shot, I'm going to try to install the latest version of Clover boot loader but I'm not holding out much hope.

Any chance when you were originally booting with -v or -t that you were getting stuck at the white boot screen after installing Mavericks? I'm stuck and running optimized defaults on the board.

I just finished a build using this board, an Asus R9x 280 (works OOB, apparently) and an i5 4670k.

Vladd - I'm getting stuck at the same spot as you. Didn't have any trouble installing 10.9.3 though.

vlad, eddy, are you seeing sound assertions like I did?

I get stuck at the same message if I see sound assertions. (I also saw the bluetooth messages but I ignored them). The only way around it for me is removing the applehda kext from /S/L/E/. I can then come up but not have audio working.

FYI, I booted up with unibeast without issue, I can't remember what flags I used, but I think I used -x GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1.
