[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'm still on F9j.
What if I go back to F9i?
Will flashing firmware resets CMOS automatically?

Please try build 1.0.6.

New EFI partitions will automatically appear in the window.
Leave the window open and plug a storage with EFI Partition
Mount/Unmount too (ex: if you unmount from EFI Agent/OCC..)
Hope this version solves Windows EFI's issue
Alas it still crashes as follows:
  • Icon appears on menu bar
  • After clicking on icon, it disappears after 2 seconds
The crash report is as follows:

Does the opencore hack tool work with extreme mb or just Casey design air to update config file
At this time HackinDROM website only contains OpenCore config.plist files for:
  • Z390 Designare
  • Z490 Vision D
  • B550 Vision D
But it's easy to copy your PlatformInfo credentials from old config.plist to new config.plist. You can use ProperTree or BBEdit or PlistPro or any other plist editor to copy these items:
  1. SystemProductName (such as "iMac19,1" or "iMacPro1,1")
  2. MLB (Board Serial Number)
  3. SystemSerialNumber
  4. SystemUUID
  5. ROM

@CaseySJ thanks for the Crash log
could you please
Code:
diskutil info WidowsEFIDiskPartition
and
Code:
diskutil info WidowsMainPartitionName
you can find the disk names from
Code:
diskutil list

After trying (a) another USB, (b) different USB port, and (c) CMOS Reset, if the problem still occurs then please compress the entire EFI folder (remove serial numbers from config.plist) and post. I will try to boot my system with an exact copy of your EFI (but with my serial numbers).
Hi @CaseySJ went through all these steps and still stuck. I will respond back with the compressed EFI shortly. Do I just remove the <key>SystemSerialNumber</key> string entry from config.plist? I am assuming yes. Thx

Hi @CaseySJ went through all these steps and still stuck. I will respond back with the compressed EFI shortly. Do I just remove the <key>SystemSerialNumber</key> string entry from config.plist? I am assuming yes. Thx
Do not remove the entry. Simply replace the serial number with the text "removed".

See attached @CaseySJ . thx for you help!
This EFI folder does not work because of a version mismatch:
  • OpenCore is version 0.6.5
  • But config.plist is from OpenCore 0.6.6
We cannot use OpenCore Configurator 2.27.0.0 to configure an OpenCore 0.6.5 config.plist because 2.27.0.0 only supports 0.6.6 and 0.6.7. This is shown in the title bar:

To use OpenCore 0.6.5, please do this:
  • Open a browser and go to the HackinDROM website.
  • Select Copy Config
  • Choose your existing config.plist that contains your serial numbers.
  • From the pop-up menu select Z390 Designare OC 065 AMD GPU -- Casey SJ
  • Then click Copy and then the Disk Icon to download a new config.plist
  • Copy this new config.plist into the OpenCore 0.6.5 OC folder in the EFI partition of the USB flash disk that you're using to test OpenCore
  • Boot from the USB flash disk and see if OpenCore Picker appears

Certainly. Here is the result:

Dang it, sorry about that. I moved over the wrong file when I was making a backup. I tried again with the proper 0.6.5 config.plist and getting the same results. Attaching the proper file. Can you confirm if you are able to boot with this file please? thanks!
