[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I am stuck at this output now:

kextd stall[1], 240s: x86platformPlugin, GFX0, ioresources
After 3 repeats of the above KEXDD stall it is now

IOconsoleusers gioscreenlockstate 3, hs 0, now 0, sm0x0
Here is my config.plist file from the UniBeast thumbdrive.
Please follow the Catalina (yes, Catalina) Mini-Guide in this post:

But keep these 4 things in mind:

Thing 1:
Because you're on BIOS F9g, ignore all the steps for unlocking MSR 0xE2.

Thing 2:
At the very bottom of Step 1 do not generate new serial numbers, but copy-and-paste existing (a) Serial Number, (b) Board Serial Number, and (c) SmUUID from existing config.plist into the new config.plist. If in doubt about the changes, simply provide both the original and modified config.plist files and I'll verify.

Thing 3:

Thing 4:
Download the highlighted ZIP file. Do not use any other files.

I think I have added confusion, this drive is already wiped - I am trying to do a fresh install.

Those instructions are for a fresh install. But if this is a different computer that needs its own serial numbers then of course Thing 2 can be ignored. Please note that my previous post has been updated. It contains 4 "things".

Hi @CaseySJ ,

I was trying to flash the ROM on Z390 following this guide:

But I got 'No EEPROM/flash device found.' message
I was probing the chip with blue dot on the back of the motherboard near HDMI/TB3 ports, this is the chip to flash, right?
I can flash my alpine ridge so I know my setup/connection is right.

Ha, several things:
1. I only use the board by itself without any power supply etc.. I'll add the power supply and give a try with
the second link in your post.
2. Regarding the chip to flash: the one I was flashing has THU3 nearby but it looks different from the one you showed in the photo, here is mine (the one with the blue dot of course):

I still got No EEPROM/flash device found message.
I follow the second link (page 1721), pin 8 is disconnected from raspberry pi 3b
My GC_AR flash is successful (with pin 8 connected of course)

I think its okay, that is what you have to flash.

CRUCIAL!

don't forget: red line of sopic 8 to blue dot

To flash the Z390 Designare motherboard, please check the following:
  • 24-pin power cable attached to motherboard.
  • Power Switch on PSU turned ON.
  • But motherboard still powered OFF.
  • Pin 8 (Vcc) on the SOIC clip removed (because power is coming from PSU, not from Raspberry Pi).
  • Ideally, we should use the capacitor/resistor circuit described here.
