Hi there! I've followed this golden build with very good success! However, instead I am using an i9-9900K with 64GB of HyperX Predator 3600Mhz RAM. BIOS has been tweaked as well as EFI and all seems to be good.
However, I am noticing one small issue that is bugging me: Whenever the system goes through the initial verbose boot phase/screen, at the end of this process (both during installation and after) my display loses signal, and I have to unplug the HDMI cable from the GPU and reinsert it, then the display will reconnect and works.
I am running a Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU. Any ideas what might be the issue here?
All,Hey @CaseySJ ,
I just did the update from Mojave to Catalina 10.15.2 and followed your update guide and precautions. The installation went well it seems, but something screwed up with the GFX card. I'm on a VEGA 64. The computer initially gives the screen a signal but when I reach the part where the V-RAM is tested (pink glitchy lines) the screen looses the signal and does not get it back.
When remotely connecting to the machine it boots up properly but it looks a bit fishy in the System Info, etc. Please see the screen shots. The GFX card shows up, but not under the main "About screen" for ex, and it does not find the monitor but says "Built in screen, 23 inch". Any idea what I can do?
Thanks again for an amazing guide and build!
This is a fairly common issue. Please search this site using relevant keywords. Also look at the Post-Installation --> Graphics forum and the Catalina Desktop Support forum. You might try enabling CSM Support in BIOS.
If anyone has specific suggestions, please let us know.
