Regarding the new i211-V Ethernet driver.

We have to include the SmallTree-Intel-211-8259x kext in the ACPI folder, not in the kexts folder ?

My ACPI folder is in EFI/OC/ not in EFI/, did I miss something ?

Its a kext so in Kext folder, Casey made a mistake
I've fixed the mistake! Yes the kext should be copied to EFI/OC/Kexts folder.

I upgraded OC 0.7.9 to 0.8.0. Per this post from @CaseySJ, I was hoping the updated SmallTree driver would get the top Ethernet port (en01) in my z390 Designare working again, but that didn't happen. (It was working fine in Mojave and Big Sur.)

In System Preferences, I added and deleted the port a couple of times, restarted the computer, and also tried renewing the DHCP lease. No change.

The port does appear in System Report > Ethernet devices.

Suggestions?
Same here, but I had some Halt on Critical Error issues, too. So for now, I'm using the "generic" 080 update.
I had another question about a boot-arg patch for the RX580, but my post was removed.

I had two issues with OC 0.8.0:

1. Before OC boot screen, I got the message: OCS: No schema for SerialInit at 6 index, context <Debug> !

After removing the code below from config.plist, the message went away:

Code:
<key>SerialInit</key>
            <false/>

2. I'm having kernel panics that seem to be related to having my Metric Halo ULN-8 audio interface connected to the upper Ethernet port (en1). The screen suddenly goes black and computer restarts.

This morning, before the crash, I tried to open System Preferences after connecting the ULN-8. It crashed before opening. I clicked "report", and the pop-up window disappeared instead of showing a report.

Yesterday, I followed the steps in this post from @CaseySJ to upgrade the SmallTree driver. (See attached screen grab.)

Latest crash report is below.

EDIT: Additional test: Connected my Ethernet switch (which is connected to the Internet) to en1 (it was previously connected to the bottom port, en0, which works fine).

Was able to open Network Preferences, but en1 shows as "not connected".

Renewed DHCP lease; no change.

Deleted and re-added en1 in Network Preferences; no change.

Connected it back to en0 and it works fine.

By the way, the ULN-8 works fine when connected to en0 via the switch, and also when connected to a D-Link DUB-E250 USB-C to Ethernet adapter.

Another ULN-8 user, interesting. Using an ULN-8 3D connected via USB myself. Less latency this way. I only have 1 3D box, so USB is fine. Big Sur/OC 7.9(I think). iMac 19,1 system def.

Yowza that's nice. Can it connect to USB-C without Thunderbolt being active? What's your average system delay in milliseconds?

Hi,

I have been having an issue with both shutdown and restart, as soon as I click on any of these options, my system freezes on the background and will not shutdown for about 5 minutes, on next boot I get the message 'your computer restarted because of a problem'

I was hoping it was due to the smalltree driver not working. Now after updating to the new smalltree drivers following the steps in this post, I now have a second issue. When I use the second ethernet port, my system crashes.

Any ideas?
