This is happening randomly!..as of now. haven't happened for 4 or 5 bootups, Is there anything else to be done for the stability?Also i can simply double click and open the Big Sur 11.6.1 pkg and install the update after waiting around?

If you are okay with the HDMI port as it is, then it's okay to upgrade to Big Sur. Simply double-click Install macOS Big Sur to begin.

Update: After booting, just when the login screen comes, suddenly the screen goes off with a pop sound. When I press a key it will come back on, this happens randomly only at the login screen. I don't know why that's happening?

This is the only issue remaining right now. I am using OpenCore 0.7.4.....any advice on this, @CaseySJ?

What is the model name/number of your Samsung monitor? Does it support DisplayPort in addition to HDMI?

Welcome to the forum!

Your Clover configuration seems a bit old and exhibits some issues such as:

• Two Thunderbolt SSDTs both point to RP21. This is not valid. One of them will fail to load -- maybe the wrong one will load?
• Loading its own DSDT. This is deprecated.
• SSDT-UIAC.aml for USBInjectAll, but using USBPorts.kext instead.
• Loading SSDT-6-A M I.aml, which we should not do. That is part of the system itself and defines USB port capabilities and locations (UPC and PLD methods).
• Several kernel patches without descriptions, perhaps for USB port limit.

Have you considered switching to OpenCore instead?

If so, I can convert your Clover configuration to OpenCore and send you a new EFI folder to try out.

Which version of macOS are you running?

I’m sorta in a similar boat. I got VTD showing up in IOReg, replaced the SSDT-DMAR table. However now the Antelope device is not recognized via Thunderbolt. I’m on Clover running Mojave 10.14.7, was wondering if there’s any solution here?

EDIT: Got the interface showing up in system report again. However it still isn’t being noticed by Antelope launcher. Everything works fine on my MacBook Pro.

EDIT2: Got it recognized finally, now just need to get hot plugging to work

Model number is LC27F591FDWXXL. It has a DP in port, but I don't know the DP version.

Mobo : Gigabyte B360M D3H
Processor : Intel i5 8th gen 8400
Graphics : ASUS GT 710 2GB - GK208 variant
SSD : CRUCIAL Bx500 1.7A 256GB
Ram : ADATA 16GB 2666Mhz and Crucial 16GB 2666Mhz
PSU : Corsair VS550

Currently the machine is running Mojave 10.14.6, Clover 2.5k 5100

Can you please point me to a guide for Switching Clover to Opencore and also for upgrading the OS....

I was actually checking in to ask pretty much the same. I've been stable on Mojave(18G9323)/Clover(5119) for ages but would like to move to Monterey.

My system is closer to the spec of this thread:

Mobo: Gigabyte Designare Z390
Processor: Core i9 9900K
Graphics: Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB

Dual SSD/64GB RAM/etc.

If you have any general advice or a mini-guide to upgrading to a stable more current environment it would be appreciated.

I am so grateful for what you have done in this thread so far, this has been an amazing build.

I've created a Clover-to-OpenCore transition guide for Z390 Designare (click here), but the OpenCore EFI it refers to will not work on the B360M D3H. My recommendation would be to follow that guide, but make necessary changes for your motherboard.

This doesn't seem to work. It is since I tried to upgrade today. I also placed back an older EFI, but the same error occurs. More suggestions? @joostiphone In your OC config.plist, set Misc > Security > SecureBootModel = Disabled

But after configuring OpenCore per the guide, set SecureBootModel to Disabled. Mojave will not boot otherwise. Once Monterey has been fully installed, we can change SecureBootModel to Default or leave it disabled.
