I'm on OpenCore 0.7.0 + Big Sur 11.5 and everything has been great so far.

Just one strange hiccup: I have Windows 10 installed on a separate drive, but Windows Bootloader doesn't appear as a boot option in BIOS. I can boot it from OpenCore, but I haven't been able to figure out how to boot it independently. Any insight into this would be appreciated.

USB is OK but not great. I've had trouble with idevices not charging, and occasional weird behavior. All fairly random, USB problems have been getting worse over time, increasing with the number of USB devices connected.
I now have at least a dozen. The wavestate dropping off is the worst culprit, but my Ableton Push is also prone to crash the USB bus.
I have a SD card reader(in fact I've had at least 5) that is troublesome also. I often need to replug it several times before it is seen.
I have a USB disk cradle that will sometimes just not show up, and needs to be replugged.
This disk cradle has also trouble mounting on my NAS, so it might just be a piece of crap.

USB is meant for connecting keyboards and mice and not much else. Unfortunately, it has become the cheap worldwide standard for connecting peripherals.

Anyway, I've implemented the advertised USB method in this thread. That is, powered USB2 hub with just USB1-2 devices connected to a USB2/USB3 port on the motherboard, wavestate & Push connected to PCIe USB card with fresco controller.

But, still having problems. I wonder if I should connect the USB2 hub to a real (black) USB2 only port on the mobo. I have these switched off for now to stay under the 15 port limit.
I've cleaned up (got rid of lots of crappy Logitech stuff, for example), updated USB drivers, etc. Also upgraded the firmware on my wavestate (though this shouldn't improve anything for someone still on Mojave).
Let's hope this will improve matters.

Hi to you all hackintoshers!
(OC 0.7.1)
For AppletVTD we need- Uncheck DisableIoMapper from Kernel Quirks.
For iGPU (Its Seems) I need -check DisableIoMapper from Kernel Quirks(booting freeze if uncheck).

Is there away to manage both AppleVTD with iGPU ?
We have not encountered this problem before, but some comments:
  • Enabling AppleVTD is optional. However, it is required for certain Thunderbolt devices such as Antelope Audio and Apple Thunderbolt-to-Gigabit adapter.
  • We set our iGPU to headless mode (Platform ID 0x3E980003).
  • In BIOS we set Internal Graphics to "Enabled" (not "Auto").

It's usually the other way around:
  • Windows appears in BIOS Boot Menu
  • Windows does not appear in OpenCore Picker
Are you sure that Windows does not appear in BIOS Boot Menu, but it does appear and does boot through OpenCore Picker?

Good question! Not sure what everyone else is doing, but I always connect mine to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and turn motherboard off every night.

Out in California, brownouts and intentional power outages due to wildfires are just common, weekly occurences, especially this summer.

I have tested this on Zoom and its working properly as I can see the other person (in this case my tv in the other room). I have also tested this on those webcam test websites and its functioning properly. Any ideas for why its not working on facetime?

Anybody have any ideas on how to solve my facetime issue?

  • Does the Brio work with FaceTime on a real Mac -- if you have access to one?
  • Is FaceTime itself activated? Are you able to make and receive audio calls?
  • Do you have a regular 1080p webcam? If so, does it work with FaceTime?
