Hello @khaoskosmos,

The ports HS08 and HS13 allow USB 2.0 devices to connect to your Thunderbolt ports. This means you can connect an iPhone or iPad to those ports using the appropriate cable (i.e. Lightning-to-USB-C or USB-C to USB-C for iPad Pro).

There is no downside to enabling HS08 and HS13 as long as you expect to connect a USB 2.0 device to those ports. However, by enabling HS08 and HS13 we had to disable two other ports in order to retain the 15-port limit.

Thanks @CaseySJ

I think the issue is that I have a Dell U3818DW monitor that also has USB 3.1 Ports, and now most of my accessible USB 3.1 ports only recognize USB2 devices. Even my Fractal Design front USB C gen 2 port is only USB2 now (it did not work with USB2 devices before). Is there a good way to get this sorted out?

Might this be the answer to my #32,988 post? :O
Yes the new version (1.5.0) should be the answer. Give it a try, and to be safe you can do something like this:
  • Insert a USB flash disk that has an EFI partition
  • Copy your existing (working) OpenCore 0.7.1 EFI folder to the EFI partition on the USB flash disk
  • Now update the USB flash disk via HackinDROM to 0.7.2
  • If you're running Mojave or Catalina, be sure to change APFS MinDate and MinVersion to -1 (in UEFI --> APFS section)
  • Boot from the USB flash disk (press F12 at BIOS splash screen to open the BIOS boot menu and choose the USB Disk)
  • Check if everything is okay

Please refer to attached PDF. The following ports are enabled in your USB SSDT:
  • USB 2.x ports
    • HS05, HS06, HS07, HS08, HS09, HS10, HS11, HS12, HS13
  • USB 3.x ports
    • SS01, SS03, SS04, SS05, SS06, SS07

Referring to the attached PDF, to which USB port is your Dell monitor connected?

I have a strange issue I haven't been able to find online.
I updated to macOS 11.5.1 after updating to OC 0.7.2 using HackinDROM v1.5.0
When I boot into OC, I select my windows 10 drive, and it stays at a black screen.
After 2-3 reboots it displays the "Preparing Automatic Repair" and just freezes at that screen.
I thought maybe it takes a while, but I left it overnight, and it's still at that message.
I set my BIOS to boot into windows 10 directly, and that actually worked.
For some reason I can't log into windows from OC boot menu. I have override in BIOS.
I tried both resetNVRAM and cleanNVRAM. I'm not sure of the difference, so I tried both.
Any idea?

EDIT: I also updated windows to latest update

I wonder if this is due to DMAR table modifications we made in OpenCore 0.7.2. Let's try this quick experiment:

Then save the file and reboot. From OpenCore Picker, choose Windows. Does it start up normally?

For those in the thread who are using UAD interfaces with Thunderbolt 3, what cables is everyone using? I noticed that I have white noise when my monitor speakers are plugged in with the UAD interface turned on and have deduced it down to my braided Thunderbolt 3 cables.

Hey @CaseySJ . I updated from OC 071 to 072 (using HackinDROM 150 latest version) and after that Windows Bitlocker keeps asking for my recovery key (which I have, so no problem). After filling it in, it get's stuck and won't boot into Windows (usually you would see the Windows circle loading). It boots MacOS Monterey perfectly fine though.

For now I went back to OC 071 and everything is fine with that one.

Any idea what the problem might be?
