[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Also it’s in IT mode so it’s just passing through the sata devices directly.
That sounds too easy; things are often more complicated. I’ll need to take a look at the full IORegistryExplorer file.

Definitely. Is there anything I should obscure from the file or ok to upload here?

It's okay to upload. Once I've downloaded the file I'll let you know so you can delete the attachment.

Update:
  • OWC has this item (I think), but macOS is not listed as a supported operating system:

Correct. We must start with F7 (Load Optimized Defaults).

@CaseySJ
Thanks, now I think it's confusing on the Hackindrom procedure when it says:

"Click the Browse... button and select the existing OpenCore config.plist. Then click the pop-up menu labeled Please select a config.plist as preset."

Which existing OpenCore config.plist.? The one I had on Clover OR the one inside the downloaded EFI? (OC-067-DESIGNARE-Z390.zip)
Sorry for the shaming question, but I am confused because the 2 .plist inside the "OC-067-DESIGNARE-Z390.zip"

Thanks

Hi @OOBIDUB,

I pass through all of the devices to Windows 10 running in VMware Fusion on OSX. I don’t use any of them natively.

Lam
oh, good to know. I thought I was going crazy thinking it was possibly in MacOS, and I missed something. Thanks!

HackinDROM will import your serial numbers from either your existing Clover config.plist or your existing OpenCore config.plist. Because you only have a Clover config.plist, please select that one. Then serial numbers will be transferred to the new OpenCore config.plist.

@CaseySJ, so the 2 preexisting files into CO should be deleted right?
(config-AMD-GPU.plist AND config-Intel-iGPU.plist)

We can leave them there. HackinDROM will create config.plist which will be used by OpenCore. The other two will be ignored.

@CaseySJ I have done everything, but it seems to be stuck on the white apple without the progress bar ;(

Hey @CaseySJ
Never got a chance to really thank you for this awesome build and the amazing support you are giving to the whole Hackintosh community. I'm very happy to have chosen your build/hardware when I was building a new Hackintosh around 2019. This is my 3rd hardware build so far since I started in 2010 with a GA-X58A-UD3R and Intel i7 950. I recently moved from Clover to OC and have a question and a new nasty problem I encounter and hope someone can help.

My current rig used for Color Grading/video editing based on this Golden Build:
Gigabyte Designare Z390
Intel i9-9900K
AMD VII GPU
Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB (latest firmware)
Fenvi T919 for WiFI/BT
BlackMagic Decklink 4K Video Output PCI card

Using iMac19,1 and OpenCore 0.6.8 (will upgrade soon to 0.6.9)
Boot args: -v keepsyms=1 dart=0 debug=0x100 alcid=11 shikigva=80 igfxfw=2
Clean install of MacOS Catalina (newest release 19H1030), not planning to upgrade to Big Sur anytime soon.

My question/problem:
1, Problem: This is the most annoying one and I can't find out what triggers it: computer freezes. When I successfully did a clean install I have not had any, but for the last 2 weeks I have been plagued with random freezes. One was persistent when I was exporting a video in DaVinci Resolve, but now immediately triggers when I open up Safari. Everything else works just fine, but as soon as I open Safari my computer hangs an I need to hard restart it. Any clue...? I have been able to log in holding shift at user login as that doesn't open any programs at startup. Included in this post my config.plist (removed my SN) and below the Apple Crash Report after a reboot (3 in total)

2, question: Dual GPU and/or eGPU support. I have been lucky to buy a second AMD VII for cheap 2nd hand before the mayor chip shortage. I've had it in this system (when I was on Clover) but I never had the feeling it really gave a performance boost. They where both present in System Report but it was working unstable. I removed the card and put it in an eGPU enclosure to use it with my Macbook. Still doing that currently, but I would like to use it in this system as well through TB3. It doesn't get recognised though. Neither did it on Clover. Is there something I need to edit in the config file to get it working? Have not been able to test TB3 on OC with other hardware, but other TB3 hardware has been working on Clover so I think it's an eGPU thing.

That's all, thanks is advance
