[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

After a restart or two, it will go back to the correct resolution. Don't know what causes this but restarting to solve it isn't a huge issue
No need to restart, simply change the resolution in System Preferences > Display.
Please le me know if it solves the issue

This is the first thing I thought of but it didn't help. I would get a low res display at the Open Core boot screen. After selecting, it would continue to be low res unless I restarted.

Try EasyRes from the AppStore.

I thought I was prepared... I wasn't prepared
My RX 580 died, and I can't get into Big Sur or boot into Mojave using OC from my SSD or any of my USB or CCC backups. I was able to get in to Mojave using my last Clover boot USB. This brings up the following questions:
  • Can I easily get back in Big Sur or should I just reinstall from scratch?
  • Should I do something different with my CCC backups?
  • Most importantly, what should I replace the RX 580 with (the lag is real on Mojave!)?

If your RX 580 is not working, you can switch to iGPU temporarily by transferring your PlatformInfo credentials to one of the Intel-iGPU config.plists. The easiest way is to use HackinDROM, as follows:

Screen Shot 2021-01-15 at 7.35.51 AM.pngScreen Shot 2021-01-15 at 7.36.10 AM.pngScreen Shot 2021-01-15 at 7.36.06 AM.png
When you click the yellow COPY button (screenshot #2) a new config.plist will be downloaded. Backup your existing file and copy the new one to the EFI Partition of a USB flash disk or your bootable backup disk or even the internal SSD (if you can).

Then connect your monitor to either of these ports on the rear IO panel of the motherboard:

I get 70Mb/s download, 20Mb/s upload with speed test;
At the same location, my MBP is 200Mb/s and 20Mb/s. Seems like the limitation is still there.

Have you tested the kexts, yet? If so, how is the speed? I ask because, the last time I tested with v1.1.0, I got 11n speeds.

Were you getting 70Mbps with the previous version as well?
