Is this a problem that can only be solved by the jumper cable? If the jumper cable that shorts some pins on the TRidge card was plugged in at boot, then with nothing plugged in (other than the jumper cable), the TB tree would appear?

Of course, not everyone wants to do that, especially if they have the proper power connectors for the TR card. As long as TB works on the Titan Ridge when I do plug things in and the tree appears, that would be good enough for me.
Unfortunately this can happen with either jumper cables or THB_C header. Often one warm reboot is necessary to fully initialize the TB card.
 
I work with F9g without any problem ! For me it is stable
I use new F9h... stable ...
 
Ok so I have followed the guides and I borrowed a raspberry pi and bought the clips and cables. ( I also have a degree in computer engineering and have written many linux kernel modules so I'm not a newbie ). I am following updated supplemental Procedure. I have tried the following command

sudo flashrom -p linux_spi:dev=dev/spidev0.0,spispeed=1024 -r Designare.bin

So I think I followed the directions wiring the system up...

but i can't seem to get the chip to reply... Any tips?

@jb007 - can you comment on this post? - I've triple checked my connections and tried reducing the speed value on the spi bus to no avail. Please and thank you :)
The last photo shows that only 6 out of 8 pins are connected to the SOIC clip. We must connect pins 1 through 7. Only pin 8 (3.3V power) must be disconnected because the computer's power supply will provide that. The PSU should be turned on (but not the computer itself).

This is a delicate task, so patience and care are always needed. The clip, for example, should fully enclose the Winbond chip. The low cost (black) SOIC clip is recommended over the Pomona 5250.

Yes I have the 7 wires connected and with no power going to the board the reader doesn't detect the chip, same if i power the MB up. I have double checked and created the hand note below...
