Ah, test subject number 1... :)

The OpenCore mini guide won’t work so I’ll send you a new EFI folder and instructions.

@CaseySJ Standing by.

Additionally, I see that the i7-10700 is available at micro center.
Would you like me to have this picked up now for testing?
I can use it rather than the i5-10400 that we have presently.

I am ultimately going to use the i9-10900 once I can put my hands on it.

You got it right.

Tbtforcepower.efi is simply going to replace shutting down and unplugging. Our sleep issues are under development.

Most people have no reason to use this driver. I just disable sleep myself.
Awesome, thanks so much. This community is so great and none of this would be possible without the contributors who make it happen. I'm very pleased with the machine. I came from a Mac Pro 2010 and now use this as my main rig in my recording studio. The performance is killer and at a fraction of the price (and additional flexbility!)

Thanks again. I'll keep watching for any progress on the sleep issue.

If you plan to port OpenCore EFI from Z390 to Z490, please note the following:

Hi,
I just wanted to say a big thanks to Casey and all those who contributed to this project. After a 5 year break from hackintioshing on an aging Mac Pro 5,1, I was up and running in a day with this new system using the amazing guide here. I installed 10.14.6 which will remain "frozen" for opening past projects as I migrate to Windows on this new dual boot machine. The only issue I had was not seeing the "Mojave" volume as a choice in on phase two of the Mojave install and instead selected the file vault preboot volume. I'm not exactly sure what happened after that. I might have ran the installer again and the Mojave volume showed up. All is great. FCP, Firewire (RME Fireface 800 with the Symba TI chipset card), internal sound. I have yet to try the Thunderbolt. Also, I'm using an Intel P660 M.2 as a project drive in the slot closest to the processor.

Hello everybody! I was away from my hackintosh since November, and I'm still running in Catalina 15.2! I am quite lost since that time, and, if you could maybe help me, towards the best procedure to update until the Catalina 15.5? And what about OpenCore? Is it easy to switch from clover to that ?
Thanks a lot in advance !

If your ultimate goal is to use the i9-10900K, then of course no need to get the i7-10700K.

On Z390 Designare, owners have been running Final Cut Pro, daVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere on i9-9900K for a year and a half. Today's equivalent of that is the i7-10700K. If you'd like to use i9-10900K with 10 cores and 20 threads, that's certainly your choice. I won't dissuade you if you can wait for it to become available.
