I'm sure the problem I'm currently facing has been solved many times, but after researching this thread I'm not sure which solution is right for my case. Basically, my hackintosh (clean installation of Catalina 10.15.3 from this guide) wakes up after some time during sleep mode, when no external devices are connected (I'm disregarding wireless mouse and keyboard). I found out that it's normal for Mac's to wake up to perform some routine stuff, but more often than not my hackintosh is not going back to sleep, and can stay turned on with black screen all night. Another thing I've noticed when that happens is that, when I turn on the keyboard or mouse and try to get to the login screen while the screen is black, occasionally, the screen won't turn on, so I have to hard reset the machine. I haven't figured out why and when this happens.

I've also read something on Mac forums about setting hibernatemode to 25 with pmset, but I'm worried that this is not something to be done on hackintosh machines.

Do my "symptoms" sound familiar? Any information I should provide in order to clarify the issue?

Hello @losinka

I have tested the patched firmware, both with Clover and OpenCore. Thanks a lot for the excellent work!

I run a UAD Apollo audio interface on my Thunderbolt connector. It works quite well. But I have an annoying problem. My computer keeps rebooting automatically after I shut it down.

If I switch off my UAD Apollo before, the computer stays off. Do you have any advice for me on what that might be?

BIOS: F22i
macOS: 10.13.6 High Sierra
OC: 0.5.8
Clover: 5098

Best regards

@CaseySJ do you know if it is possible to disable somehow RTC ALRAM that wakes computer periodically, I got some weird sleep behaviour, when I got internet (ether or wifi) turned on my hack waking up due rtc alarm every 10-15 minutes, if i turn of internet it wakes up every 1-2hrs, can I disable all those darkwakes somehow? I tried disabling all power options and tried darkwake boot args and nothing helps...

@maschinenwart: The bios do nothing except CFG_Lock=Disables (if you set it) and GPIO3 Force Pwr=Enabled (if you set it). I don't have UAD Apollo. May be you need to check other bios settings and your Clover/OC ssdt/config. I don't know, sorry...

Please see the Sleep Aid guide. In particular, there's an RTC SSDT attached to that post, which you may copy to CLOVER/ACPI/patched and see if things improve. But also review all of the other suggestions in that guide.

Just reporting in on my setup. I have gotten very consistent results with my TB monitor since upgrading to the latest beta BIOS for my motherboard. Apparently, the BIOS I was running on was blocking monitor detection on boot. I never achieved consistent success running two monitors off of TB while running patched Designare NVM33 on my GC-Titan Ridge card. Now that I have potentially eliminated one variable with the old BIOS, I'm going to take another run on different patched firmwares for my Titan Ridge in pursuit of my dual monitor over TB dream.:)

I believe I have successfully adapted the experimental guide on OpenCore for my motherboard and so far so good. I'm keeping it on a thumb drive so I can easily boot with Clover or OC.

@CaseySJ- Is patched NVM51 still the next best option? NVM23 had good success but I think I remember you saying you were getting better results from NVM51.

Hi,@CaseySJ
My X99 Designare has a built-in thunderbolt controller (DSL6540).
Can it activate the TB Bus? My SSDT using ASUS X99 will not work.
Do I need to provide ACPI table and thunderbolt firmware?

@CaseySJ I was thinking about reinstalling as well. I'm at OpenCore ATM and have Windows installed, and everything except that weird issue is working perfectly. It's not even breaking sleep instantly. It's just constantly darkwakes for half a minute and goes back to sleep with period for about 10-15 mins.:(
