What is the easiest way to map my USB ports for the Z390 Designare motherboard?
The mapping is already done. If you're running Mojave, please see the Post Install Files at the end of Post #1. If you're on Catalina, see the zip file at the end of the Catalina Mini Guide. (Link to Catalina Mini Guide is at the top of Post #1 in the spoiler marked Quick Reference to Mini-Guides and Micro-Guides.)

Soon, can't tell you exactly when, many buyers, particularly corporate and agency buyers, soon they will realize that buying a Intel based Mac will be a bad investment and they won't pull the trigger on a purchase.

EDIT: I left out the conclusion of my original post. The upshot of what I'm saying is that if the sale of Intel based Macs drop significantly, Apple will have no choice other than to speed up the transition, which means things could happen much faster than what your chart proposes might happen.

Most corporate/agency buyers write hardware off after 3 years, here in the UK anyway, and it is replaced. Apple will still support Intel based hardware for the foreseeable future, 8-10 years, so we still have some time to continue playing with Hacks.

Apple could quite easily pull the rug from under our feet at any time they wanted, so just play along as long as you can.

Thanks for your response, but I think I know more about corporate and educational institutions than you do. I'll play along as long as I feel like it, and no longer.

From where do you draw that conclusion? As an IT manager in both corporate and educational sectors here in the UK, I know quite a lot about it thank you.

Your MacBook Pro 16,1 will be good for years to come. You will be able to run macOS 11.0, 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5. New versions of macOS will run natively on Intel until around the end of the decade.

Mostly, I agree with your replies. My point was, in a roundabout way, that Hackintosh really is the best option now.

But not this one, the one about my new and ridiculously expensive Macbook Pro. I'm really not sure that this was a good purchase. I think it just might be a good time to sell it, get what I can out of it, and move on to either a Windows laptop (at usually half the price), or maybe do a hackintosh laptop. Not sure what I will do just yet. Need to think on this.....

@kellymac12 @boob so - just looking at the previous posts, we all have Vega 56/64 cards (not that I'm suggesting it's video - but I did read somewhere of stopping the Vega from using the DP port as an audio output via boot arg and that stopped someones USB freezes. Plus we all have an iLok? I have had issues with mine lately, but I'm not sure if it's Catalina and the iLok app. UAD's LUNA as that messed a few things up iLok wise or if the USB issue is causing the iLok to behave weird??

@kellymac12 - checked our EFI and same apart from a couple of non-issue; bootpicker etc.

Well, first of all, I worked in Silicon Valley for over 20 years, reviewing and recommending and actually purchasing computer equipment and I also worked in educational institutions here in the US for over 10 years doing similar work.

OK. I'll pluck up the courage, bite the bullet and report back if/when I have any success...

For what it's worth, I have a different board, but the same USB lockup issue and symptoms.

These lockups have happened multiple times on video calls and I can watch the video and continue to hear the calls go on, just can't interact with the Hack at all. Pushing the power button during that state brings up the expected dialog box, but I don't have a way to click anything... I'm using an Apple Magic Keyboard and Mouse and am assuming I lose connectivity because I lose the USB header on the Broadcom AirPort card.

Just for giggles I pulled my GC-Titan Ridge card and went a week without lockups. I reinstalled the GC-Titan Ridge card Sunday had a lockup in less than 24 hours.

Now what I found really interesting is the only USB device I had plugged in (before, during, and after the test) was a Logitech Brio webcam plugged into HS05, which along with the Bluetooth, should have been on the onboard USB controller, not the GC-Titan Ridge card.

I don't have an answer, and am not sure what to test next

Yes, absolutely!

For me (and just me) Apple's laptop line is very compelling, which is why I purchased the 2020 13" MacBook Pro even though I was fully aware of Apple Silicon rumors. Buying that laptop now allows me to get a full 7 years of macOS updates.
