Hello All!

In this thread I will be discussing my mobile minded custo-mac dubbed "HckGo"

  1. GA-Z77N-WIFI Motherboard
  2. Intel i5 350k - H60 Water Cooler not installed yet
  3. Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 600 Watt PSU
  4. NVIDIA GT 640
  5. Logitech g500

Comments:
Benchmark Scores
Internal Graphics Only
Geekbench 9827
Cinebench OpenGL 22.88fps - CPU 5.71pts
Unigine 9.6 FPS - 241 Scores - 6.6 MinFPS - 16.8 MaxFPS
GT 640 Graphics Card
Geekbench 9884

Unigine 20.8 FPS - 525 Score - 11.8 Min FPS - 44.4 Max FPS
LuxMark GPU+CPU 306 - GPU only 244

Brainstorm Section - Please help!
Sleep! I have not been able to get this system to successfully go to sleep and wake. Any input?

Benchmark Scores! how does your (similar hardware plz) compare? Reference install guide for my install options

Has anyone gotten HD4000 to work with Nvidia Cards for triple monitor displays?

Mouse Options - Logitech G series
Im using Logitech mice in both my builds (g700 & g500) These are great mice, I love them dearly, however OSX does not understand them quite like windows, which gets annoying when jumping between operating systems. To amend this I modified the mices internal settings and Mac's settings.

Using Logitech Setpoint (in windows) to modify internal mouse Memory
Set Report Rate to 125. This is synchronizes it with Mac's poll rate.
With acceleration disabled (I prefer this optimal muscle memory) I find a DPI Sensitivity of 900 in Mac correlates to the stock value of 800 in windows.
In setpoint, im unsure of "Use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration" has any affect in mac. Anyone know?
I then purchased the program USB Overdrive, it has made my mouse work more to my liking.

My Installation Method:
Required Files:
Mountain Lion USB
Multibeast (I used 5.1.3)
Custom DSDT http://www.tonymacx86.com/11-dsdt-database.html
10.8.2 Update
Optional benchmark tools:
Cinebench
Geekbench
Luxmark
Unigine

I implemented a test procedure to find the best configuration for my build (Second hard drive required)
Step 1: Install Base
Booting from the USB with GRAPHICS CARD REMOVED
Sometimes I had to boot with -x (safe mode) to get into the USB installer
Format Drive (be sure guid partition table)
Install Mountain Lion

Step 2: Preparing Fresh Installation
Boot into mountain lion, copy all files to desktop
Install 10.8.2 update (Do this before running any other software)
Reboot twice

Step 3: Creating Fresh Installation Image (Optional)
This is done purely for testing purposes, it allowed me to find the perfect setup for my build, and allows me to jump back to start whenever. A second hard drive is required (i used a usb hdd)
Power Down
Insert drive for backup
Boot from USB
Go to disk utility
Create compressed image of boot drive, save on backup drive
Now you can go back to this point if you mess up, or want to test new configurations

Step 3: Post Install Configuring
Boot into Fresh Install
MAKE SURE CUSTOM DSDT is on desktop
Run Multibeast, Check the following
UserDSDT Installation
Drivers -> Audio -> Without DSDT -> ALC892
Drivers -> Network ->Realtek Gigabit Ethernet (NOTE: Others have suggested using Lnx2Mac, I've had better luck with Realtek, hence the testing)
Customization -> System Definitions -> iMac 12,2
Reboot Twice

Now is graphics install time, if you're using onboard skip this, if you're adventurous NVIDIA customer, use the benchmark tools/disk images to find your sweetspot of drivers

For my GT640
Run Multibeast
Drivers -> Graphics -> NVIDIA Fermi OpenCL Patch -> NVIDIA Retail 304.... (Note: I had best luck with this, 10.8 Patch could work for you)
Customization -> Boot Options -> Graphics Enabler=No
Power Down
Unplug Power Cord
Install Graphics Card
Boot

Now that graphics are installed, lets install HW Monitor, so we can keep an eye on our expensive components temperature.
Multibeast
Drivers -> Misc -> Fake SMC
Drivers -> Misc -> Fake SMC Plugins (both)

Now reboot!

But I don't know the really method for activate HD4000 for this recent motherboard.

You are the first i read who activated HD4000 but me i don't have any GC and I BUGGG to configure the next tape of my new IMACROBOT ;-)

Thanks for the walk-thru. Good stuff. I have a similar build...

GA-Z77N-Wifi, i7 3770, 240GB SSD (system), 750GB Momentus XT (personal data), HD4000 (planning on upgrade to GTX650Ti later), Prodigy case, etc.

I also found that using iMac 12,2 defs worked best. Worked for days between different defs but the iMac worked best.

I'm having issue with the bootloader not booting my ssd system drive. I have to go thru unibeast usb.

Do you know if i can just install the bootloader from multibeast to fix the issue?

@Funky G

are you remove usb before reboot or setting first boot ssd in bios ?

Also install bootloader to multibeast may resolve that. Question ? You're not yet install Chimera after installation ML ?

Oh oh oh, it's all good. HD4000 activate 512Mo. I've just inject into chameleon boot:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1280x1024x32</string>

I've seen different string to inject like : AAPL,ig-platform-id or different device properties BUT for me just set the resolution and UNPLUG/PLUG DVi cable.

Great Thanks for Tonymacx86 Community.:clap:

Belhadj, how did you get WiFi running? I have the same board, made my first hackintosh install yesterday and found only two problems, no Airport / WiFi, and the Screen goes to sleep and did not come back properly.

Thank you so much for this guide!! I have a similar setup to you, i7 3770k 16GB Vengeance RAM, GA-Z77N-WIFI, MSI 660 Ti 2GB, and the H60.

Not sure why, but every time I used Multibeast 5.2.1 and and tried using the DSDT (or even without a DSDt and just checking the option on), I wouldn't be able to reach the login screen. I would remain stuck at a point between where Verbose text no longer shows, and the login screen is supposed to fade in. Real question is, do I even need a DSDT?

I've also lately had problems with my bootloader and can only boot using the unibeast USB. Looks like either a new install or try fixing it inside Mountain Lion.

Anyway, what's the advantage of iMac 12,2 definitions compared to any of the others?

Thanks Hackintose! Just follow your guide and successful with intel hd4000, i5 3570k, Gigabyte z77n-wifi, 8G ram, 128G Kingston SSD.

Would be perfect if wifi on board can be working. Next wish to add graphic card!

---------------------

After reboot the screen glittering. It can be solved by restart the monitor (LG TV) or shifting the inputs back and forth.

Find below link is working with below setup by edit the my plist as below:
