The system components were bought as a present for a major achievement in my studies. Back in 2012, they were mainly chosen after the famous Zorro Build. The first hack mounted Mavericks as OS, loaded with Unibeast/Multibeast method. After a long period of inactivity of the build I have decided to take it back to life. Having bought a new DLSR camera, I have realized that the RAW files shot by the D750 were no longer readable by OS X 10.9. So I have decided to go for a fresh install of Yosemite. Together with this choice I have flashed the MB bios from F10 to UEFI and changed the bootloader with Clover after reading about all the fuss about the iMessage issues.
The hackintosh is now running with the main purpose of a Mediacenter with Kodi, VLC, Spotify and iTunes as preferred apps. Apart from that, the system is also used as a backup server, with TimeMachine Server app backing up my MacBook Pro 13", which is used as main workstation. Since the hackintosh is by far more powerful than the MBP, my idea would be also to edit some simple video by means of Final Cut Pro.
The system is very quiet and can stay turned on in the leaving room without anyone (but the cat) noticing it.
