Comments
I wanted to build a rig to replace my 2009 Mac Pro for video and photo editing. So far I have been amazed at the speed and reliability of this rig under El Capitan and now Sierra.

Installation
1. Start by downloading the following apps from tonymac86 website to an USB stick. Then install Sierra onto the USB stick. Upon completing the USB stick build, copy the apps you downloaded to a folder onto the same stick.

Apps & Links
UniBeast, MultiBeast, Nvidia Web Drivers, AGDPFIX.app, Clover Configurator, Xcode (I use Komodo and Xcode).

2. Boot into BIOS by pressing DEL during start splash screen.

Loaded optimized defaults
XMCI Hand-off ->Enable
Super IO Configuration-> Disable
VT-d ->Disable
Windows 8/10 features -> Other OS
Storage Boot Option Control -> UEFI Only
Boot Option #1 -> USB drive

**Save and Exit**

3. Once the Clover screen loads go to options and make sure Boot Args: dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v are enabled then go to Graphics injector and Inject Nvidia

4. Now install Mac from USB, after selecting your language, go to disk utility and format your OS drive. Quit disk utility and install Sierra as you normally would.

5. Once the installation is complete the computer will reboot and load to the Clover screen. Do not eject the USB stick yet as you will need it to boot the system. Now go back to Clover options and make sure Boot Args: dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v are enabled then go to Graphics injector and Inject Nvidia. Return to main Clover screen and boot from the MacOS drive you installed the OS on.

6. With the system booted, copy the MultiBeast folder and Clover Configurator to the applications folder. Copy the other folder with the apps you downloaded to your desktop.

7. Run MultiBeast and install the appropriate drivers for your system. I am using the following:

-UEFI Boot Mode
-Realtek Audio ALC1150 & 100 series Audio
-IntelMausiEthernet v2.2.0
-System Definition 17.1

8. Install Nvidia Web Driver and eject USB stick

9. Mount EFI partition and open the Config.plist with Clover Configurator, under Acpi enable FixShutdown and save and quit. This will fix the issue when the computer would restart on shutdown.

10. Copy SSDT for Power Mangagement file “SSDT-i7-6700K.aml” to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/

11. Open config.plist file in Xcode, under Boot REMOVE all Arguments. Under SystemParameters add NvidiaWeb-Boolean-Yes

12. In System Preferences-Users & Groups-Login Options enable Automatic login for your user. Go to sharing and enable screen sharing.

13. Reboot and go into BIOS and select your MacOS install drive as the first boot drive. Save and quit.

14. Now when you boot your Mac you will be greeted with a black screen. This is because we are using the iMac 17.1 system definition. The way to fix this is by screen sharing the hackintosh with my MacBook Pro and installing and running the AGDPFIX.app. Once that’s done reboot and everything should work!

15. To get USB3 to work follow the steps in this thread. Basically you are going to add the following code to your config.plist (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/usb-new-raise-port-limit-patch-for-macos-10-12-sierra.202329/)

<dict>
<key>Comment</key>
<string>change 15 port limit to 26 in XHCI kext (100-series) 10.12</string>
<key>Find</key>
<data>g710////EA==</data>
<key>Name</key>
<string>AppleUSBXHCIPCI</string>
<key>Replace</key>
<data>g710////Gw==</data>
</dict>

What Works:
Audio
Ethernet
USB 3
USB Type-C (tested with my Nexus 6p)
Sleep/Wake
Audio on Wake

Not Working:

What a great build. Excellent work! :)

As for your Samsung SSD in a USB 3.0 enclosure causing problems I would run IORegistryExplorer (available through links on this site), then with the program running plug in the enclosure and check what your USB ports are doing. It should identify the attachment. See Ammulder's USB configuration info in his Skylake guide. It could be you have a port configured as USB 2.0, despite it being a real USB 3.0 port, or not configured at all.

Having said that, if you've got the USB 3.1 Type C port working you don't need me telling you anything!

:)

To be honest, I didn't have to do anything to get the USB Type C port working. My Nexus 6p is only a USB2.0 device and I have no way of testing the speed beyond that. I will read up on IORegistryExplorer and give it a try in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for the tip!

Wake from sleep does not work under 10.12 anymore.
Wake from sleep works for me. It didn't at first, but after setting darkwake to 0, it began to work.

Hey, can you explain more about this point ? i don't understand what i have to do to fix the black screen issue.! how can install the AGDèFOX.app if i can't log in on Os X? Thanks

Have you had any issues with the machine waking instantly after sleep? I have the same CPU & Mobo combo as you but whenever I have any USB devices connected that require power (WIFI/BT Card, iPhone etc), it wakes straight back up again. This is the last step to getting my Hack working perfectly!

Do you have another Mac on the same network that you can use to screen share?

I am running a patch that ejects external hard drives before going to sleep. Otherwise I would get the message saying the drive was ejected incorrectly. Before I installed the patch, the computer would go to sleep no problem as well. What darkwake setting are you using?

Do you know if screen sharing is enabled on the hackintosh? If not, you will have to go into the clover options on startup and enter these boot args dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v and enable inject nvidia and disable use web drivers. Then boot into the OS and turn on screen sharing and restart the computer. Then go back into the clover options and delete these boot args dart=0 nv_disable=1 -v and make sure inject nvidia is disabled and use web drivers is enabled. Then boot back into the OS. Half way through the apple loading screen it will go black and that's when you screen share with your other Mac computer. Then run the AGDPFIX.app after the install it will ask you to restart the computer.
