Hi guys,
This is Hany from IRAN. I built this last week with these components:
OS X: El Capitan 10.11.3
MB : Asus H97M-E (I chose H instead of Z because I will not use my motherboard for overclocking)
Cpu: i7 4790 (I think you can use 4790k, the only differences is 4790k is unlocked and can be use for overclocking)
RAM: Apacer 2*4GB 1600MHz
Graphic: On board intel HD graphics 4600
Monitor: 23MP65 LG
Mouse & Keyboard: Apple USB mouse & Keyboard (I also tested wireless microsoft mouse and keyboard)
Hardware compatibility:
CPU: OK works fine, I got record for single core in Geekbench 3576 and multi-core 13551
In 64bit benchmark the results are even better single core 3947 and multi-core 15117. I think it is maximum powder of CPU.
RAM: Recognized fine
USB: Works fine, except all of the devices recognized as USB 3 which is not a problem. The speed is also maximum when you connect your flash to USB 3 ports.
Graphic: Perfectly working, you don't need to setup anything. HDMI port working fine. So I used this port.
Monitor: Ooooh, my god, LG 23MP65 recognized in El Capitan. I can not believe, even it has its own settings. I connected the motherboard to monitor with HDMI port.
Hardware incompatibility:
Ethernet: Ethernet worked fine in OS X installing process but when I booted El Capitan. It stopped. So I checked Realtek 8111G in MultiBeast, then it worked fine with its maximum speed. I tried other drivers for Realtek for Mac from Internet 8111G they also worked fine.
Audio: Audio is not supported natively you need to choose Realtek Audio ALC887 in MultiBeast.
Installing:
Just follow the GUID for El Capitan from tonymacx86. That's it. Thanks for them for this great job. Now I can use the high speed mac on this planet.
I just made a mistake in making USB OS X installer. You should only use UEFI not legacy boot. I lost 3 days to find it. When you make a legacy boot the setup will stop after some seconds so only make UEFI USB flash boot.
For booting El Capitan as default without the USB flash you need to select UEFI from MultiBeast.
So totally you need MultiBeast for:
Ticking UEFI boot mode.
Ticking Realtek ALC887/888b (for Audio)
Ticking RealtekRTL8111 v2.0.0 (for network)
Do not tick anything in graphic configuration as it is support natively.
In system definitions i chose iMac 14.1 but it is not effect anything on your systems.
Then choose built install.
Thats it.
