I just build and installed my very first Mackintosh and would like to thank everyone here a lot !! This forum is so helpful !!

Here's what I did:

For installation, I followed tony's tutorial for creating USB drive here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...pported-intel-based-pc.172672/#download_elcap

For BIOS settings, I used this thread:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-build-ga-z170x-ud5-th-i5-6600k.199242/#Build

And then STEP 4 on this page again for El Capitan installation
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...upported-intel-based-pc.172672/#install_elcap

MultiBeast settings here: (#7)
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...0k-intel-hd-530-thunderbolt-dual-boot.191292/

  • Quick Start > UEFI Boot mode
  • Drivers > Audio > Realtek > 100 series audio
  • Drivers > Audio > Realtek > ALC1150
  • Drivers > Network > Intel > IntelMausiEthernet v2.1.0d0
  • Drivers > USB > Increase Max Port Limit
  • Customize > Graphics Config > Intel HD 530
  • Customize > System Definition > Imac > Imac 17,1

I finally add the SSDT-i7-6700k.aml file in the EFI partition in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder.

Thunderbolt:
To get Thunderbolt working, check Post #4 below. I explain everything from Windows installation to the Thunderbolt install itself.

Nearly everything is working but I have as many people in this forum sleep/wake issues. First of all (and maybe the weirdest) in the system preferences I don't have the computer sleep setting (I use to but it disappeared 3 days after the install), I only have the one for the screen. And the big thing is as soon as the screens turns off, I can't wake my hackintosh up whatever I do (neither with the mouse or keyboard). For now I had to set the screen to never turn off ...

[EDIT] It'a a known issue with Intel HD530 graphics but still i'm supposed to have a computer sleep setting ...

Second thing, I got an error message when installing Little Snitch saying there was a missing kext file ... That really bugs me, I really want to install it !!

Any help will be appreciated ! Thanks.

Hi,

I successfully install Thunderbolt today with a StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter !

Windows Installation

- Download a Windows 10 x64 ISO from Microsoft's website:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sof...rue&d2784474-fdb0-4e9d-9e47-5e88c0e053ec=True

- Create a bootable USB drive using Boot Camp

- Shutdown your Hackintosh and unplug OS X Drive

- Boot on your USB drive using a front panel USB2 (I changed the boot sequence to USB then you should see 2 partitions, pick the UEFI one)

- Install Windows

- Download Thunderbolt Drivers v16.1.47.275 and install
http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-UD5-TH-rev-10#support-dl

- Download Thunderbolt Firmware Update Tool v16.0818.1 and install
http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-UD5-TH-rev-10#support-dl

Gigabyte says to update to the latest BIOS version (F20), but I didn't because I read somewhere in the forum it could change things regarding Thunderbolt. Mine is version F5.

- Shutdown and unplug power cable for 30 seconds

Thunderbolt

- Unplug Windows Drive

- Plug OSX Drive back in

- Starts my Hackintosh with my StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter with my Apollo plugged in and powered on.

- Install Universal Audio Drivers, restarts and oh joy it now appears in the UA Control Panel !!

Just to let you know, I didn't change a single thing in the BIOS nor in Multibeast or whatever. Last thing, even if it runs ok, System still reports Thunderbolt unavailable.

Oh really ... I thought it just adds Kaby Lake support ! Why on Earth did they remove Skylake support in this BIOS version .... Plus there's no way to downgrade it, so for a Hackintosh user, that would be terrible .....

...yes, I use a Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2, but without using the Corsair Link Software...

Neither do I. I didn't have a clue they had that software ... :)

My question was more about how you plugged the pump and the radiator on the mobo. Which one did you plug on CPU_OPT ? My radiator's fan always spinning, is it normal ?
I have a Corsair H60.
