@ Soarhevn...Do I need to uninstall the old kext or just simply kext beast the new download from my desktop?

usb 3 didn't work for me after initial install, I have to install patched kext from:
http://cartri.net/blog/810

or direct download:
http://cartri.net/blog/modbin_patched_PXHCD.kext.zip

everything works for me, except, dual screen.
and fuzzy screen at login when turn on, just re-plug cable will fix it.

i'm using an Apple 24 monitor.

Please let me know if anyone knows how to fix the screen problems.

Figure out the resolution for the Apple 24" monitor, then replace the below with your resolution:
Add to org.chameleon.Boot.plist
<key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1080x32</string>
then no longer needed to unplug/replug DVI/HDMI cable

When installing new kexts, if you are using KextBeast, KextBeast will automatically move the old one out.

hi soarhevn,

any way to get dual video outputs working?

Thanks,

Not sure, haven't tried it personally. You will need to search through other threads on this.

Did someone find the Display Port working with OSX?
I was considering that build too, and I would like to use the HD4000 hires output.

I am new to all of this and would like to see if I could get some help. I have your same setup, but I am having trouble. I found this post when I was having issues booting to the hard drive. I get past the POST and get boot errors. So I tried using your multibeast suggestions and now not only can i not boot to hard drive, but my video is gone. When it loads to the sign in splash I cant see it. Is all messed up at the top of the screen. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Cory the newbie.... :)

Awesome, glad you got it to work!

I am working on the same build, but am having problems when booting after chimera bootloader is installed. I got a kernal panic about CPUID:
getCPUIDInfo: this is an unknown CPU model 0x3a

Did you have any problems with that?

I’ll try your settings that you have listed in the guide for multibeast.

Thanks!!!

The same here for me - any ideas?

Thx

Hello all!
I have just built my first hackintosh using almost the same parts, please see my signature. However, I do have 10.8.2 installed instead of 10.8.1.
The installation went smooth and everything seems to be working, expect for the sleep function. When I click on sleep on the apple menu the screen shuts down, but it doesn't seem like anything happens to the computer as the fans and everything continues to sound and run like before. After I have clicked on sleep it´s impossible to wake the computer up again and I have to turn the power off and on. Can someone please explain why this problem occurs and what I can do to make it work?

I´m a complete noob here so I might have missed something simple… Thanks a lot!

Hello,

take this
HTML:
http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enabler/downloads/detail?name=SleepEnabler.kext.10.7.x-10.8.zip&can=2&q=
and install it with KextBeast.

Good luck
